  1. here are the directions from the station, though there's a nifty shortcut to the left of the football ground and playing fields, then turn right up the hill View Larger Map
  2. I'm still holding out for an Oriwisu spot night, maybe not for the chrismas drink though. How about 2nd january when only the hardened can face a night down the pub?
  3. You mean the pub was more cliquey rather than the EDDC members? Agreed, they weren't at all welcoming last time I hammered their door at 2 in the morning demanding a drink ;-)
  4. Well i'm very very nearly done on Fable II, just finishing up the last of the side quests before heading to the final battle with Lucien. Still got 20 keys and 25 gargoyles to find mind, and only managed a couple of the demon doors. They won't charge for the DLC will they?
  5. I'm sure huguenot made and posted a really good google map of the area with most of the pubs, might be worth hunting donw
  6. There were a good few new faces at the East Dulwich Drinking Club on Friday I must say. Come along!!
  7. ha ha, possibly. I've seen the belly dancing, lets see if they can be persuaded to up it to mud-wrestling.
  8. "that's why i suggested the Wishing Well, so everyone can have a clean night for once." Are you suggesting we normally deal drugs, hit on gymslips or partake of mud-wrestling...or all of the above? Is there anywhere that would cater for that as it happens?
  9. Seriously though, I'd have to say Wishing Well has been my favourite suggestion so far. Montpellier's nice too, especially if that crazy barmaid is still working there. How about Bar Story, just to chuck another one in the mix?
  10. Can we stretch the East Dulwich Borders as far as The Market Porter?
  11. Keef beat me to it. Ooh, am reading homicide too, it feels weirdly like watching (err in word form) a documentary about the making of the wire. But it's very cool!! ---- Back to characters. Does Herc have any good points? There are times I really want to kill him, but he's earnest I guess, just stupid, and he does actually catalyse Marlow's downfall.
  12. Wishing well is a good call. I like the dog, I just never seem to get served there. i'd love it to be at the castle, but I fear too many would boycott the evening, and it's been deemed unnecessarily divisive, which is a pity, but there's the rub.
  13. Aaah, one of the great quotes of the show Brother Mouzone: You're the perfect bait. They will view you as conflicted, you're homophobia is so visceral. Lamar: See that. I haven't even walked in the place yet and you're already calling me a cocksucker.
  14. Aww, I dunno, I thin it's packed to the brim full of comedy, it just doesn't play for cheap laughs.
  15. Indeed. Here every teenage killing makes a headline, especially in London, but you can sense we're on the brink of being desensitised to it. You can easily see how in a city of almost 300, mostly drug related murders a year, in a city the size of Sheffield, that another corner kid's death barely even registers though. So far we've had two dozen youth murders in a city of 12 times the size of Baltimore!!
  16. why-oh-wire there so many wire threads?!?!
  17. Or you can just use a ha'penny
  18. actually you're on to something there. The newspaper allows us more of a hook than the detached voyeurism of a tv watcher. Suddenly we're seeing Baltimore through the same lens most of us would view it through if we were actually resident there, safe in the waterfrontcondos or in the counties, whingeing about how our tax dollars are being wasted on this, or how the system isn't doing enough about the schools, violence...eerrr serial killers! But i'll admit it wasn't the most engaging of plots or set of characters, apart from the news desk editor, he was cool
  19. I've series 5 too if Keef's isn't freed up by then.
  20. true dat
  21. For me the end was about how it's all a circle really, and neatly negated the need for more series. So Bubbles has found some sort of redemption, but there are always more walking down his path such as Duqant. Omar was replaced by Michael, McNulty by Greggs (perosnal) and Sidner (career)
  22. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/mps-seek-to-censor-the-media-1006607.html Seeing as the Al Yamamah investigation was stopped 'for reasons of security' it doesn't take much of a leap of imagination to think that labour would have suppressed the story had this legislation been in place. And this is cross party, so I can't even blame labour. God I hope this goes no further.
  23. I know how you feel about Randy, but that cameo scene said all that needed to be said really. No foster parent had been found, and the system had significantly hardened him up. We know not what the future holds for him, but he won't be making any debating teams. Very sad tale. Aslo know what you mean about series 5, I said to SB that it was the first one that felt like entertainment. Still some great stuff, and it manages to end without you feeling the need for more, which can't have been easy.
  24. alos true. Yeah, prop Joe gets a big mention, I'm glad the wisodm of Joe gets more and more screen time as it progresses. He died well to "That boy always was a disappointment"
