  1. Blimey. Welcome to the forum and perhaps East Dulwich Angela, way to make friends and influence people ;-) Frankly East Dulwich, like any place really is what you make of it. All the nappy valley nonsense is just overblown hyperbole (hmm, nice tautology). It's no more mumcentric than any town outside of London, and as a professional myself who'll rarely make it to the strip prior to about 6 (unless it's to watch footie in a pub) I rarely see the peak hours, but honestly, what can be so offensive about families and prams? I'm not going to get into the whole kids/no kids debate, especially as it's been done to death here on many an occasion, but do have a heart girl, what ever happened to live and let live?
  2. No doubt it will be Jamie Winstone or that bloke off About a Boy/Skins, who seems to be in everything. Or of course ALEX BLOODY JAMES!!!!!!!
  3. Good choices. Loved Boxer, might even pip Alligator in my book. The Producer is producing the EP for some mates of mine, which they are hugely excited about, as they're big National fans too. Here's an old one of theirs if you're interested, clearly they were rather into Coldplay and U2 at the time if you get my drift. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BHC4CIb5Exg
  4. Perhaps bland can be the new cool, I love 'irony'. Right, I'm off to get My Lighthouse Family album.
  5. OK, as if people don't think I'm geeky enough already.... J. Michael Straczynski is doing the script which is a good thing, he wrote most of Babylon 5 (along with guests such as Neil Gaiman) and so can handle lots of characters, a vast back story and good characterisation, as well as buckets of humour thrown in. Not seen any actors announced yet, we still have over a year to wait on this one sadly.
  6. I saw last night's by accident, hadn't even heard of it. Rather good. I dunno though, running zombies, it's not very orthodox, and even the production values felt VERY 28 days later. Didn't stop it from being very funny and entertaining though, great turn by Davina McCall as hungry zombie too.. Is that Jamie Winstone fella actually any good or just famous? And blimey, how gory?! Very much looking forward to World War Z too!!
  7. great name Applespider. I so hope you're spanish Do?a Maria Manzana-Ara?a Gonzalez. Cooooooooool
  8. Why on earth do you have to turn tto a music magazine for some decent journalism? http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/23612315/how_we_lost_the_war_we_won/1 What next, Smash hits on the Bin Laden children's controversial love of Britney?
  9. I'm a flickrite too and it's good at what it does. Haven't really checked out the rivals, maybe I should to see if I'm still getting value for money.
  10. Should be 'sticks piers' really as not of London but live here, so a bit of a mockney frankly. Originally created for the thisislondon forums (horrible place, steer well clear), thence to flickr and finally here. Err that's it I'm afraid.
  11. Donnie darko sequel? Huh? Isn't that like having a sequel to 12 monkeys? Would that be thirteen monkeys then? Can I stop asking questions? Girl in Cube was very cute? Do I have anything to say? ...... No?
  12. Blimey, 3 years later...someone was busy
  13. Where would earn the timely sobriquet of Negative Equity Crescent?
  14. How long before someone suggests Bugaboo Boulevard. .... Doh!!!
  15. In the past streetnames reflected a little more honestly the trades and activities that went on therein. I always crack up at the thought of Grope**** Lane which was near what is now Barbican, renamed Milton St, I'm sure he'd have been proud...err so to speak.. I rather like Cut-Throat Lane, no worse than Nunhead in honour of some poor decapitated sister (citation needed).
  16. My god, this is almost as bad as the Alan and *Bob* bread-making thread...get a hotel people!!!
  17. I think we did a graph some time ago with frequencies of posts amongst the most addicted posters. Made for some interesting stuff, may have to do another one. Sean came out top back then, but having looked at your stats HB I suspect you may have taken the crown; getting on for 3,000 posts in 9 months?!?!? Top banana!
  18. Good call Keef, and yeah moos, no wonder I'm so scatty these days, instant dictionaries, wiktionaries, imdb, all music guide, mobile phones with contacts, we just don't ahve to bother remembering anything anymore!!!! Anyhoo, stromtrooper with a sore head
  19. I was the one near the front of the side bar with my head in my hands. Shambolic last 10 minutes undid a pretty gutsy performance. I see 'arry says of Spurs "You look through and there are international players. You look at the quality and they shouldn't be where they are" I'm sure he said the same about the West Ham team that was too good to go down, and the Southampton team that was too good to go.... you get the picture.
  20. unopened mussels in ok to eat shock!! http://blogs.independent.co.uk/independent/2008/10/eat-mussels--a.html
  21. The wheels of the wagon got a bit rickety over the weekend. I blame cousin Tom who kept me up til half 4 setting the world to rights!! Will endeavour to get wagon working again though....til saturday I'm guessing.
