edit as it was duplicated. But sausage? Bit pink but OK?

Men do the barbecue because we are shit at social interaction, and scared by it too. We will do the bar if asked, but would prefer just to put coats on the bed upstairs, till someone we likes arrives. Then we can show them the lawnmower, or the new boiler. We didn't want to have the party.

Don't you like it? I never knew. I shall stop immediately. Please accept my apologies. Banksie.

Pubs on Saturday 4rh July..(independence day)
johnie replied to I hammer's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We went unbooked to the Watsons General Telegraph last late afternoon, and today to the Herne, again without a booking. Both were very civilised, and efficient. The bar staff in both were enthusiastic to be back and excellent. It does feel different, with table service in the Herne and ordering on an app in the WGT. I think if you aren't up to speed with your own smartphone you would struggle, but I would recommend both venues of an afternoon. As a shuffling tramp of the after part of 55 years, I'm not really arsed with going out in the evening; all the staff I talked to said last weekend was hectic. If you are craving a pub moment, but a bit bemused that you've spent so much time being cautious to be now given the OK, I think I shall recommend both the WGT and the Herne for a sneaky pint post-dog-walk. It doesn't feel hugely pubby, but it is still great to be out. (And I'm not a supporter of the Get Everything Moving Again mentality, just do rather like a quick pint) -
I'd support higher taxes for me, and I've paid close on 50k taxes last year. Having said that I would prefer a muchmuch higher proportion went locally.

The guys at the plant do a cracking job, and if you do go you'll appreciate that social distancing has meant you're just given a couple of bins (garden waste/rubble, household waste) each, rather than meandering about trying to find the right bin. So don't spend hours as I do sorting recycling - it all just household waste now. That upsets me, but hey ho.

You're probably best with something like this: https://hintonskips-dulwich.co.uk/wait-load-skip/

Some lowlifes took the trouble to nick the cat from our really old MX5. They must have jacked the car then spent 10 minutes with an angle grinder, before scarpering with a 20-year-old bit of scrap. Here's some advice, get it new: https://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/car-parts/Mazda/MX5/1.8L/Petrol/Premium/Exhausts/Catalytic-Converters/MAZ5007/1/34?gclid=CjwKCAjw8J32BRBCEiwApQEKgYfk9p9IuncmEmEm0ljXH5PpVPYFwEXaDGxQIgjO-jCQnd6qWV7_zhoCZScQAvD_BwE Anyway, thieves, as I was about to replace the exhaust anyway, PM me and I'll pay you to do it, you utter muppets.

I last had a pig 45 years ago, but mine loved dandelion leaves. She could also stand up to my Wire-haired dachshund, and eventually, they slept together every night. Quite surreal.

My son is in his second year, and due to lecturer strikes, followed by the lockdown, has hardly had any tutoring or lectures this year. The online offerings promised have been underwhelming. The upshot (downshot) of this has been that he has lost his mojo, and from getting firsts in his coursework is now talking about dropping out. He had been loving it. Are any of your kids suffering anything similar, and if so, any ideas? I'd imaging there is the same at secondary level too, but the distance makes it harder.

Why are non essential shops still open?!
johnie replied to JAC88's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes, well said Fizzy. I'd imagine you re very aware of the infection factors and the consequences, and can appreciate you avoiding both. We are definitely getting all this worse than some of our European neighbours. Is that down to our pretty lax lockdown? I have no idea, but are we also enjoying a time far less harsh than they have? I say enjoying tongue in cheek. To date, we seem to be balancing our enforced stay at home with a fair amount of freedom otherwise and relying upon individuals to do the right thing of their volition. I think it is right we call those out who spoil it for all and endanger some, but as Fizzy has demonstrated, it is a grey area. Question but not accuse I would say. -
I remember the guy who did it expected to be finished in a couple of weeks, but it took the best part of a year, as it was riddled with nails from decades of posters being attached. Poor bloke spent more time resharpening his chisels than actually chiselling.

Has anyone > read something about droplets from exhaled > cigarette and vape smoke? I'm sure they have. Whether or not this will be absolute bollocks will be quite easy to work out. Because things are easy prey at the moment does not mean they are something to worry about. neither smokers nor vapours have been shown to spread disease. it is far more likely to be anyone doing normal things. come on everyone, think.

Wearing a Deliveroo > jacket does not mean you are a Deliveroo delivery > person. Actually the jacket isn't free. You have to pay for it out of your wages, pretty typical in the Gig economy. Even the Subway uniforms (the sandwich shop) are bought by the employees.

I think these are rubbish proposals. Traffic is just going to divert onto East Dulwich Grove and onto Lordship Lane through the horribly dangerous (for pedestrians) junction.

Those are the main park gates and aren't supposed to be closed while the park is open. I walk our dog there every day, and it is always a worry, but it isn't about people not closing the gates. Wishing Flo a full recovery, it's my nightmare...

Sainsburys ban on selling fireworks?
johnie replied to hammerman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hmm. I have pets and children. I think fireworks are lovely, but there is a type of firework that just makes a incredulous bang just for the sake of it. I'ld say no to those. However, there are some that sparkle and fizz, and I have lots of time for those. There's something lovely about being out in the cold and watching something brutal like explosions in the air. City kids have little to wonder about, don't deny them a bit of magic. Wandering back with a crowd after the show has finished is special. I will be pinning a Catherine wheel to my tree come 31st October, as soon as I return from Westminster. -
Aren't these called maisonettes?
