  1. Southwark residents can get into Tower Bridge for one quid. https://www.towerbridge.org.uk/learning/communities/community-ticket-terms/ and you can get the kids in free.

John, we use these guys. https://shop.restore.co.uk/product/confidential-paper-security-sacks/ Contrary to what is stated on this page, we weren't charged for collection. Brilliant service.
  3. You can properly avoid most human contact in a Wetherspoons by using their app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wetherspoon.orderandpay&hl=en_GB Doesn't work for guest beers, however, which is often the draw.
  4. Ah, I think I had the wrong Shoreham, Shoreham-by-Sea near Brighton.
  5. I would think a good place to start would be joining the Route 21 at Ladywell or catford, then picking up Route 20 for onwards from Crawley. https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/21909#map=11/51.1703/0.2314
  6. Gina Miller's new site may help: https://www.remainunited.org/be-tactical/
  7. The swifts are back in force over Scutari Road
  8. My oldest friend and I are going to drive his classic Alfa back through Europe, and we're meeting in Naples. I'm hoping it will be a bit like the Trip, but it almost certainly won't. Anyway I want a hotel in Naples with good food and great atmosphere, where I can strut my M&S white linen jacket and the car won't be stolen. Sea views a bonus. Please advise.

  10. It will be a track straightener. A huge huge machine dragged along the tracks by hydraulic arms. Sounds like a monster.

Really good and arrived in 24 hours.
  12. Wells-next-the-sea (north Norfolk) is good for kids and toddlers, and maybe 2.5hrs by car. https://www.wells-guide.co.uk/
  13. Hi Renata, Khristy, Echo Thanks for your kind words and sorry all for my minor rant. I'm just so frustrated as this has happened on every primary and secondary admissions day we have suffered. Our kids are 9 years apart, so never benefited from the sibling thing. We know most of the secondary schools pretty well, as we know friends' kids who went. I know it is a waiting game, we have been there and done the tribunals and all that. It has worked out for us in the end before, it is just a dull slog and stressful for the kids. All we want is localish schools that aren't a real slog to travel to, where there may be a few friends from primary. Echo, I know Deptford is good, a friends son did well there, but his mates don't live close by so he always came home on the bus alone. Anyway, as I said, it isn't the end of the world, just really really annoying. Good luck all.
  14. Ah well, as expected nothing from our list, instead Harris Acedemy Peckham. Didn't want that for our dyslexia challenged girl. Here come the waiting lists. I'd suggest the oversubscribed schools really shouldn't bother with open days, there is no point. It is just a lottery, and is just will upset kids who then set their hearts on something. I also think the sibling thing is quite unfair at secondary. By then all kids are making their own way to school. Spitting feathers, we have had this fiasco for 15 years with our kids. Invest and build more schools you austerity obsessed tossers.

Buses for many are not free, so a trip to the park could cost a few quid.
  16. I had to open up 3 different browsers before the other images finally started to load - I realised the trick was to keep scrolling. It does strike me as a slightly pointless effect. Why the need to scroll to initiate the load?

I thought, as the whole of East Dulwich is within the south circular, we will be in the ULEZ, so I don't think we will be the dumping zone, that would be Forest Hill.
  18. I think it is, they have a notice on their door saying if they are open the Post Office is too.

  20. Near colyton road. Rather destroyed glass I'm afraid, in a rubber case. It looks like it might have been run over, the glass case is shattered, but it isn't damaged otherwise as far as I can tell.

  23. Yes, parasol, they are tasty. However, foxes seem to use them as markng posts quite often.
