RH, I think it is more a safety aspect. If you have a kid in a pushchair and a toddler walking, said toddler is quite difficult to manage. Drivers of cars reversing out can't easily see a small person. Used to stress me out, but then I always used to park at the far end as I couldn't be bothered with the crowded areas closer to the shop. In fact I think that's the real issue. Why does everyone want to park as close as they can?

Actually RH I think that just reinforces Jeremy's point. There is a big difference between occasionally doing it and doing it relentlessly day after day, when kids are about to go into meltdown, you haven't had a decent sleep for months etc. etc.

We bought one of these last year, and it works pretty well. It will cool the loft rooms down in about 10 minutes, and we put it on every couple of hours (we have a office in the loft with south facing Velux windows). This one is discontinued I think, but there are similar alternatives. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Homegear-Portable-Conditioner-Dehumidifier-Control/dp/B01ERLMJ92

Rendel, I knew it would be you if anyone. I really appreciate your posts BTW, keep up the pragmatic thinking and reasoned arguing.

Does anyone have a decent quiet route from ED to around Petersfield? I want to go to a family gathering tomorrow afternoon in a village called Rogate on the A272. I'm looking at the traffic and Clapham Junction trains and thinking meh. I think I'd prefer to cycle if I can find a quiet route. Not bothered about speed, I can take my time and if there are trains I could get on with the bike, I'll do that. This isn't a Lycra fest racer journey, just a trusty hybrid potter. Any ideas of routes appreciated.

I used to do the Aspace website and I must say the quality was really good. However I've two problems with loft beds (we've a really cool VW caper bed for my 8 year old). 1) They're happier in a big bed 2) it is almost impossible to extract a child from a tall bed Having said that it is a brilliant use of space, more room got back than you would think. -

Noticed these type of stretchers being used in the WWII film of Peckham on the BFI http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-bombed-out-1945/ See about 49 seconds in -
I had an absolutely cracking on in the Goldsmith Arms in Penge last Sunday, great roasties and an extra jug of gravy. It annoys me more than anything to have a dry roast. Plus this was at 4pm when you'd expect food to be dwindling. http://goldsmithsarms.com/food/

I would have thought this age will be one of the first fully historically documented ad nauseam. Even Streetview, let alone on social media.
