Just so you are aware, 3 of them are at present running around the Ivanhoe Road area, fighting over who gets what house!

The council did try to sell off alot of the estate a few years back but the tennants put up and fight and the council had to listen! They are now refurbing the estate, new double glazing, kitchens, bathrooms, they are turning the disused laundry rooms in the roofs into private flats and are only knocking down and selling off one block, which is the one just outside of the estate on Pytchly Road. Hope this helps!

I was about the post the same re the tent layout - what a nightmare! I managed to get my pram in but was them followed round by the pram police, asking 'Are you going to be looking at that for long?' and 'Can you move on please!' I moved the pram over as close to tha stalls I was looking at as possible! I was not going to carry a sleeping 7 month old around! The kids enjoyed themselves, powering the music stage, trying all the free samples and making Christmas cards, but I felt it to be very un-family-friendly, the tents needed to be much bigger!

The estate is being refurbed, new kitchens, bathrooms and double glazing. The old laundry rooms in the roof space are being converted to luxury apartments and sold privatly to help fund the refurb, if I were looking for a luxury appartment in ED I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be in the roof of a council block! The block on the corner of Ivanhoe and Bromar is the only one being demolished and will be rebuilt as another block, was going to be 5 stories but that was a couple of years ago so that may well have changed by now. Indeedy the squatters were evicted, I have the photographic evidence just incase it turned nasty! There were 13 council people and community wardens there to evict 4 people! They did go quietly though, left their plants behind too!

The top one looks very much like the chapel at Camberwell old Cemetary. The film Entertaining Mr Sloane was filmed there also.
