  1. This should be helpful: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/Pregnancyandmaternityrights/DG_175088 I work for the NHS and added my annual leave onto the end of my mat leave too!
  2. Mine get really bad too, to the point of cracking and bleeding - my GP prescribed me a huge container of emollient cream which I always use after washing my hands (you can also get it over the counter) which has helped hugely, also try to avoid washing your hands in cold water and always wear gloves when out in this weather. My hands have been MUCH better this year, still a little dry but not red and sore at all.
  3. Dog Kennel Hill School closed tomorrow!
  4. Charter will be closed tomorrow! Bromar Road now heavily gritted - thank you Southwark Council!
  5. Charter is closing at 1pm today.
  6. Again, AVOID Bromar, Malfort and Grove Hill Roads, they are pure ice, I've seen 3 cars run into the same parked car this morning on Bromar.
  7. Dog Kennel Hill school open, just phoned them.
  8. Not seen a P13 pass at all, so presume either not running or diverted.
  9. Please DO NOT attempt to use Bromar Road as an alternative to Dog Kennel Hill, cars can not get up or down and are hitting each other and skidding all over the place, my advice is, if you have to drive, stick to the main roads!
  10. All fine here too.
  11. Yes it does, sorry forgot to say that!
  12. Thanks for that Pickle!
  13. Excellent! There'll be at least 2 girls then!
  14. Saw a notice about this yesterday at DKH school. It's a free 4 week course on Fridays at the Albrighton Centre run by Sure Start. 2-3 year olds 10.15-11.00 and 3-5 year olds 11.00 onwards (don't recall the finishing time though I think it was 45mins or an hour.) Booking is essential on 020 7277 3840 - Hoping my daughter won't be the only girl there!
  15. He was in Bermondsey yesterday and has been filming on the Heygate and Neckinger Estates over the past couple of weeks!
  16. It's in the lounge... I presume beacause it's not ED specific.

    Can't tune XFM

Nay probs! I couldn't find it in the search either for some reason, luckily I've nowt else to do but search manually!
  18. I was going to say similar Sue! Perhaps the Consultant was held up in theatre before the clinic started, or perhaps during the clinic he had to give a patient or even more than one patient some upsetting news... Unfortunately this is the nature of the beast in O/P clinics. You could contact PALS if you feel it warrants a complaint: http://www.kch.nhs.uk/patients/services/pals/ Edited for stoopid spelling;-)

  20. Hi Pickle, My daughter is 2.5 and still in her cot, I do worry that she is one of the last still to be in a cot but my reasons are; it is a large cot bed, she has more than enough room, she is the worlds biggest fidget and ends up all over the cot! She wakes in the night to go to the toilet, she also didn't sleep through until she was just over 2 years old, and was a nightmare to actually settle to sleep. I know that if she were in a bed this would be a step backwards for us - in that she would not settle if she had the option to escape! I understand your dilemma completely but think that if he's happy in his cot, and you're not fussed, go with it! I'm pretty sure it won't cause them any long lasting damage! V
  21. Pleasure. :))
  22. Brockwell Park is 7.30pm on Thursday - and free too, Crystal Palace charge.
  23. This is really sad! The Albany Midwives really are fantastic, hope it's just a glitch and it's all sorted very soon, for all the women planning for a homebirth with them.
  24. What an awful thing to have happened, and once again it would seem, due to wreckless driving. My thoughts really are with the 2 young men and their families.

I and my entire family have been 'getting out' in ED for many many years and none of us have been mugged, stabbed or shot. I do believe that crime is an issue in London, I do not believe (and will not until someone shows me some hard evidence) that it is on the increase, before this forum, you may well have not heard about all the incidents, this does not mean that they weren't happening.
