  1. Dog Kennel Hill is this Friday the 3rd 3.30-5.30.
  2. There's a house on Ivanhoe Road that's had it's tree up since the beginning of November :-|
  3. There was a thread on this but I can't find it either. It is still the Salvation Army training college, it's not being converted into anything nor has it been taken over. Here's the planning apps: http://planningonline.southwarksites.com/planningonline2/AcolNetCGI.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPSESSION= (Type William Booth into the address search.)
  4. We're in the top part of a Victorian house, had my little girl 3 weeks ago at home in the pool + 5 people with no probs at all. We were paranoid too, esp as our house is not in the greatest nick, but all was lovely! I've never heard of a pool dropping through a ceiling but completely understand your worry!
  5. I'm going to stick myself in the firing line I think and say whatever happened to 'live and let live?' It's only the window frames, he's hardy painted obscenities on the front of his house, I would be more peeved to live next to the house on Danby Street that has a sign saying 'No F***ing junk mail please' or a house that had rubbish piled up outside, this is a well kept house that the owner has decided he would like to brighten up. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if it were on my road!
  6. I only let mine go out on the actual day, so the Sunday - and only to houses that have a pumpkin or decorations on show.
  7. Yep, that's right Mrs.Lotte!
  8. So glad you posted this Jeremy, was going to myself but have a mind like a sieve! I couldn't get to the presentation at the Albrighton on Saturday unfortunately so am no clearer than you, but obviously something needs to happen there. The council have left it as a dangerous eyesore. The letter also mentioned redeveloping the old Gatebeck and Southdown sites which I am really against, Gatebeck House on Pytchley Road was demolished in 1999 and has been a car park ever since, where will all the cars park if they put a new block there? Southdown House, also on Pytchley Road was demolished in the late 70's, My husband remembers playing on the rubble! There was apparently a huge fight from the residents at the time to leave it as a much needed play area, which is now 'the cage' opposite the top of Quorn Road, it is in permanent use by local children from the estate and the surrounds and is essential in my opinion. Please let us know if you manage to find anything out Jeremy.
  9. My mistake, When you said schools in East Dulwich I thought that's what you meant. For the record Dog Kennel Hill School may not be in "East Dulwich Ward" but it is in East Dulwich (SE22) Where as none of the other schools you mentioned are. Not aimed at you but it does wind me up when people carry on like the only schools in ED worth sending their children too are Goodrich or Heber and their whole world comes to an end when they don't get offered one of these. Try looking around a bit, there are other brilliant schools in ED!
  10. James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We're fortunate that we have a number of good > primary schools in East Dulwich - Goodrich, Goose, > Heber, St.Anthony's. ...and Dog Kennel Hill.
  11. They are currently using a temporary building at the top of the estate, the entrance is the last one as you're going up the hill just before Dog Kennel Hill School, drive in as far as you can and you'll see temp buildings on the left hand side. The actual centre is on Albrighton Road, half way up Dog Kennel Hill but it has been demolished and is in the throws of being re-built, not sure when it's due to re-open.
  12. Thank you for that, may give it a try next week.
  13. Thank you! Do you think it would be suitable for a 3? yr old? How long does the class last for?
  14. Ooh what is Whippersnappers?
  15. 1st was 13 days late. 2nd was 4 days late. 3rd was 17 days late. So no pattern to go by and 4th is dues in 4 weeks.
  16. 100% agree with Jeremy! The Fox on the Hill (esp the garden) is always dirty, the service slow and the food horrible!
  17. It'll be a shame if it happens, I like The Vale, not a fan of Wetherspoons at all.
  18. I know how infuriating it is but I guess it depends on your personality, I am currently 8 months pg with my 4th child and would never dream of asking for a seat, occasionally I get offered one for which I am extremely grateful but would never 'expect' anyone to give up their seat for me. I would however offer my seat to anyone who looked like they needed it more than me.
  19. You could either do: Forest Hill > East Croydon > Brighton, East Dulwich > London Bridge > Brighton, Denmark Hill/Peckham Rye > Victoria > Brighton.
  20. Haha maybe! Or perhaps he just warms to a certain kind of person!
  21. I'm another who never had a problem with any of the staff in there, always found the owner polite and helpful, he would happily open the door for me with my pram and would chat too!
  22. Or a walk up to Highwood and the P4!
  23. I'm due October and am in the same position!
  24. That would be Paul Yarrow He does live locally and is a very nice man, perhaps if you see him about you could take the time to talk to him, he is always more than happy to talk about the causes he believes in. In my opinion he is doing no harm so leave him be!
