  1. We live in a Victorian terrace and have a coal hole on the front path that goes to a small area at the front of our basement. Ours has been converted a lot over the years (before our time) we did find our lovely tiled fireplace hidden behind plasterbord and a horrible gas fire. Does anyone know if there's anyway of finding out the original layout?
  2. Really disppointed in that post computedshorty, I usually enjoy your posts but that was unessesary, how does one expect teenangers to have respect for adults when they are spoken to like that? I know Junad and have done for some years, he is a very polite, friendly boy and in keeping with this I think he should heed the advice of Maxxi & RosieH, I'm always sickeningly polite to people that are rude, it makes me feel better and them feel 6 inches tall (tu)
  3. It would be wise not to speculate or make comments based on hearsay, the persons family may well read the forum. Very sad indeed.
  4. I was told a few weeks ago that they reserve a few 'on the day' appointments. You have to call as soon as they open to get one, this may still be the case? I agree that it's not acceptable to wait a week for an appointment.
  5. There's an Iceland just down the road in Peckham, I shop in Iceland when money's particularly tight but would just pop to Peckham if the LL branch went.
  6. I agree with Jeremy. Although I do think the impact on parking made by the 8 new flats will need addressing. If Iceland already have huge lorrys delivering, what difference does it make what it says on the side of the lorry? I'd welcome an M&S on Lordship Lane.

  8. Hi all, My daughter was offered a place at Bessemer this time last year, we knew nothing about the school, we live practically on the doorstep of DKH where my older sons went. We went and had a look round straight away and I was impressed by what I saw, and the fact that the deputy head showed us round and took as much time as everyone needed to answer questions. We took the place and have never looked back, my daughter is so happy, the teachers are lovely, the early years playground is amazing, and the classrooms welcoming. The headteacher and deputy head are really doing everything they can to bring the school back up to standard and are always visible before and after school. There are lots and lots of after school clubs and sports groups. The children all settled in so quickly in September. I can honestly say I'm glad we got Bessemer over DKH now having had experience of both schools.
  9. My 16 month old has milk and water from a Doidy cup and has done since starting solids at 6 months.
  10. I saw 102 in Sainsburys Park.
  11. We found the BabyBjorn potty chair the best, a good height if they're sitting for a while, with back support and easy to clean as it comes apart. http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=babybjorn+potty&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&oe=utf8&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=9445449860127123584&sa=X&ei=XckzT9SEFKaw0QXWqr27Ag&ved=0CHMQ8gIwAw#
  12. Bessemer again? How do DKH keep getting away with not having one, they have the space!

    .

How awful for your nephew, hope he is OK. My sons use this route to and from school and I will make sure they are vigilant. Thank you for keeping us in the know and I hope whoever did this is caught before anyone else is targeted.
  14. Brockwell was brilliant, the children and adults all had great time!
  15. Haha! I did like that one :))

Allegedly Someone got stuck in some fresh concrete on the estate behind Sainsburys.
  17. Just seen Moss from the IT crowd! :)) I win!
  18. Blimey can't a girl wear a mini skirt and heals to the park without being classed as a slag? And I know I look a bit hard wearing but to call me industrial is just plain rude. Geez people can be so judgemental, quite frankly I have been left feeling crushed and devalued.
  19. Next weeks films are Cowboys and Aliens and One Day.
  20. Oops cross posted :)
  21. It's on Thursday mornings at 11.30, term time only so should be starting again next week. They release the listings each Friday, so next week's listings will be online this Friday. Peckham Plex
  22. You could sell them on here? :) What sort of sizes are they?
  23. Hello! We back on to the railway on Ivanhoe too. In answer your questions - No it's not that noisy, it's not a freight line, very occasionally maintenance trains will go by at night but they are pretty quiet and you would only hear them if awake anyway, they are pretty rare though. You do get used to them and block them out after a while. For some reason the evening trains are squeakier than the daytime ones but again, you get used to them, and they're more of a bother in the summer months when all windows are open. It's a nice road to live on all in all, the trains really aren't an issue for us. :)
