  3. I think that's all a bit unfortunate, given that the package was apparently correctly addressed but wrongly delivered. I am sorry you are housebound, but could not the person you gave it to have delivered it to the correct address? Posting on here was a bit of a long shot 🙄
  4. Sorry to be dim. I am also a "lone woman". I don't see the problem, if you complain about noise, with having someone come to assess the noise from your bedroom, if that is where it is disturbing you? Presumably you are not going to answer the door in your nightgown? 🤣
  5. Barry Parade???
  6. Why on earth would someone be sectioned for taking part in a protest against the continuing use of fossil fuels? It isn't the people protesting who are insane 😡

I didn't mean just the footbridge, which yes is at the top of Cox's Walk. According to the map at the entrance to Cox's Walk, that whole side of the woods which would have been reached by the footbridge is now fenced off 😭 So yes, it's the part of the woods on the right if you are coming from the Wood House. I was in another part of the woods. I'm assuming the path which used to run from the far side of the footbridge (ie not the Cox's Walk end) is no longer usable in either direction. Apologies if I'm wrong.

It seems Amazon told Drxyster to dispose of it, so you had better ask Amazon to send you another one, whatever it was 😢

  10. Bloody hell, what a horrible experience. At least from what you say nobody was physically hurt?
  11. My mail has been arriving on time since Royal Mail finally upped their game in East Dulwich.

  13. If you are in their catchment area, The Gardens is good.

Thanks You can still do this. The part of the woods affected by the closure is on the right as you come into the woods from the Wood House direction. But do you mean the Plough? Or the old Harvester? The entrance to the woods near Lordship Lane is opposite the old Harvester/Grove. The Plough is further down opposite the library. If you don't walk to walk along main roads to get to it, you could go via the park.

James Barber was a very good and proactive councillor. So I believe is James McCash (spelling?) In local elections I don't necessarily vote the way I would at a general election, and I suspect (I have no evidence) that others are the same. Does anyone know anything about the Green candidates? I have got a postal vote (which I don't remember applying for) and I've got to post it soon.

  18. Thank you for that, I have sent it to Helen Hayes. Who I am sure is absolutely appalled by this.

This is just the latest from this government, isn't it. A gradual slipping further and further down until the unthinkable becomes the acceptable. Drip drip drip. One wonders where this country is going to end up. And why so many people appear not to notice what is happening. Or why if they do notice, they don't care.

I agree with what Jenijenjen said above. I'm very happy for the portaloos to be paid for from my council tax. Maybe take a few moments to look at the wider issues here, Rockets - the clue is in the word "extinction".
  22. As posted above, I highly recommend Lloyds Direct. It saves all this hassle!

I do feed and water them though. There is also a robin who often has a bath in the large saucer of water I put out. Actually there is a pair of robins. I think they are nesting in the climbers.
