Amazing 😮 Years ago I heard a terrible noise in my garden and it was a bird of prey catching (and carrying off) a starling. I used to get loads of starlings in my garden, and I haven't seen a single one since then 😭

My post seems to have gone back to normal. Things are arriving within a couple of days of being posted, and Private Eye was on time. Also I am no longer receiving items posted weeks/months ago. Fingers crossed they have cleared the backlog and now have enough staff to deliver current post. I hope I am not tempting fate by posting (no pun intended) this.

It's a bit odd that this isn't common knowledge among all vets, given the original post? Hope all your dogs recover quickly.

I just used wwww.iloveimg.com which was very quick and easy and automatically compressed my photo to the correct size for the ED Forum without my having to put the required size in. If you had more than one photo to attach to one post, you would need to use another website though, as the photos would need to be compressed to a smaller size (but you could always attach one photo to each of the following posts) I couldn't find the website I used to use :(

There are several websites where you can enter a photo and get it immediately reduced to the required size. Can't remember the names offhand but a quick Google should bring them up. Alternatively, any photo editing software would be able to do it, I think. As you say, it's the file size which needs to be reduced, not the dimensions of the photo.

I've just read this article, and I'm wondering what people have noticed locally re the increasingly earlier flowering of plants in their gardens and elsewhere. I was at Kew yesterday and they are certainly seeing it there. Being around plants and trees and being able to see them from our windows is also very important for our own mental health, particularly in an urban environment where we increasingly have even the sky blocked out by high buildings and more and more loft extensions.
