  1. Is there a list anywhere of SE22 food banks, with their opening hours? I have tried googling and also did a search on here, but couldn't find any info. I know there have been posts on here. I have a load of stuff to take but don't want to find somewhere closed, as it's heavy.
  2. As I understand it, the problem was that the amount of rain which came after the drought was nowhere near sufficient to restore water stocks in the reservoirs, and that was why the hosepipe ban was not lifted. I don't know what the situation is now. Congratulations on your first EDF post!
  3. If anyone's child has lost a small cuddly toy monkey, it was sitting on top of a wall pillar just past the flats next to MIRASH earlier today (on Grove Vale).
  4. The reasons why not are the same as the reasons why he was kicked out before. However, devil and the deep blue sea. I've just spent eight minutes of my life watching that press conference. It was excruciating 😮
  5. And copy your email to Helen Hayes. That will make them bend even further backwards to sort things out!
  6. There's a Poundland in Chiswick and Putney High streets, both of which are upmarket areas with high street rents I'd assume to be higher than LL. So clearly its working for them. I don't know about Chiswick, but Putney High Street is full of charity shops and seems to be going in the opposite direction to gentrification.

I was replying to Iainr above, but I seem to have done it wrong. Hopefully it's clear that my reply is at the end of his post!

I don't log out, so it's not that. Would deleting all cookies not also delete the fact that you are logged in? I never once had this problem with the old forum, and now it just keeps happening.
  9. Oh, lucky you, miss loaded. What other shops do you walk around and just freely buy whatever takes your fancy, even though you don't need it, because its just so cheap? Should we keep you away from Moxons too? Changed your forum name again, have you?

    Air fryer

Jay Rayner doesn't think you can cook decent chips in an air fryer ... 🤣 https://www.theguardian.com/food/2022/oct/09/chips-in-an-air-fryer-they-are-dull-dry-and-very-sad-as-am-i?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  11. I haven't even got mine yet 🙄
  12. I agree it's often good quality, and very good value for money.
  13. I went online today to track a package supposedly being delivered today, and there is a load of stuff from Royal Mail about why items may be delayed at the moment.
  14. Easier all round to just get groceries delivered, I have found, once you add up the costs in time, fuel (if driving) and general inconvenience of shopping in person. Not that I use Sainsbury's if I can help it, after some bad past experiences.
  15. I don't understand. Sorry to be dim, but was this an item ordered from Argos online, to be collected at the Argos in the DKH Sainsbury's? If so, and it has somehow gone astray before getting to Argos, surely it is up to Argos to either find it or replace it?
  16. The trouble with Lidl is, it's so cheap you end up buying a load of stuff you don't really need. Like IKEA. I have to stay away from Lidl for that reason 🤣 And yes, there is one just down the road from King's.
  17. These are great! On one now and passing lots of different kinds of retro buses going the other way! Thanks so much for telling us about it!

Sorry, duplicate post. That was meant to substitute the post above. It's taking me a while to get to grips with this forum 🙄
  19. Green bin?

    Air fryer

There's also the space it takes up to consider, plus the appearance of it if you have to keep it on a worktop all the time. Don't get me wrong, I think for a lot of people they would be great, assuming you can afford the initial outlay.
  21. I stand corrected 🤣 But none of it is East Dulwich, so I agree with Malumbu that the thread should be in the lounge 🤣 And please God BJ comes nowhere near ED.
  22. Huge sympathy. Re the council issues, in particular the rude response, you could contact James McCash, or whoever your local councillor is. That is just unacceptable from someone who is dealing with the public. Re the other, you could at least ask the builders to turn the radio down (or preferably off, though good luck with that, as many builders seem oblivious to the fact that there are people around who are trying to work or sleep or are ill or who just want to live quietly in their homes) . And you could try to find out when the work will be finished, so that at least you have some idea. And if there is actual damage, inform your insurance company as soon as possible if you think you know the cause, as possibly you could get this paid for by the building firm involved ( though I have no idea!)
