  1. There are lots of useful things here, but I'm not sure many people are going to see them in this section of the forum?
  2. He was still around a few weeks back. Hopefully he still is!

Thanks Sephiroth. I am using MailerLite now, which was recommended to me, and I've just sent out our first newsletter from there. It isn't ideal for various reasons, and it's a bit of a steep learning curve, but I'll wait and see how it goes. I haven't heard of Substack! I will investigate!
  4. And this response exemplifies my point about pretentious yuppies. Rather have a coffee than a multi pack of hula hoops. May I make a suggestion to any yuppies reading this? Invest in some instant Nescafé granules if you’re struggling that much. Then you can get one of the hula hoops multi packs too. Can afford an expensive coffee and then moans about mortgages, child care costs and rents. Hilarious, so full of self importance. Louisa. Ugh. Same old same old. Can we relegate Louisa to the Lounge again please Admin. She was allowed back if she didn't just regurgitate the same, stale vitriol. She's like Wolfie Smith but without the wit or self awareness. Agreed. It's been going on ad nauseam for years. She once announced she was leaving and never coming back. But no. She saw an opportunity to have another go at the people living in this area who she appears to hate so much.
  5. How about the skate park by the old Harvester? When there are people there using it, obvs! There is a little veggie garden at the back of it, too.
  6. Not unless you're at least 100 years old. I'm not 100 years old (yet) and I remember that. There was a great outcry, and a condition of the Sainsbury's being built was the park in front of it. Massive traffic jams were also predicted, with the cars going to and from Sainsbury's, delivery lorries etc. The massive traffic jams never happened, and although I was against the development, I actually think the park is better than what was there before.
  7. Great picture, but it isn't East Dulwich is it? Or is it?
  8. Yes, it's the church at the top of Barry Road, so almost opposite the library. Can't remember its name but it has a cafe and a little fairtrade gift shop.
  9. As you come up Barry Road from Peckham Rye, there's a great view of the church at the top of the hill. Must have driven up there hundreds of times and only really noticed it a couple of weeks back.
  10. Sorry, I don't get this. So you think other local supermarkets sell crap biscuits, crisps and cakes. But you will buy crap biscuits, crisps and cakes in Poundland because the crap is cheaper there? Sorry if it's a silly question, but if you think it is crap, why are you buying it?! I thought you were moving to Bromley, btw?
  11. Thanks for posting that! I'm going to watch her other videos now! Sad to be reminded of Pearspring, though 😢
  12. I thought they sold fresh food including fruit, vegetables and bread? Have I misunderstood? The pictures you posted don't look unlike certain areas of supermarkets like Sainsbury's.
  13. Taking into account all the above, in your position I would approach the relevant council department (not via the automated website!) and if you get no joy from them (or maybe at the same time) approach either your own councillor or the councillor representing the area Townley Road is in (if they are different). I would say you had a strong case, but what would I know. Worth trying, anyway!
  14. Anybody seeing that would quite reasonably take it as correct!
  15. If that reasoning held, there wouldn't be many shops anywhere!
  16. Thanks, I'm clearly more senile than I thought 😭🤣
  17. Poundland actually sell some very useful things, plus branded goods like Fairy Liquid and toothpaste at low prices. As with any shop, if there are things which don't appeal to you, then don't buy them! If nobody buys those things, the shop will stop stocking them. If the shop continues to sell them, then clearly there is a demand for them. Time will tell. At least we no longer have to pass a load of faded chairs in the window of a massive and usually empty estate agents!

I looked up their reviews on Trust Pilot, out of interest, and found yours there! To be fair to them, it does look as if they are resolving this for you? https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.radiators4u.co.uk
  21. I can also highly recommend Glen Scotland +44 7723 019161 who was recommended to me by Steve the Spin Doctor. Helpful, knowledgeable, efficient and very reasonably priced.
  22. Which charity? I really miss Pearspring 😢 The Nunhead Gardener has a great shop within the new Elephant complex. I think it's larger than the Camberwell one.
  23. Do they search you to make sure you aren't taking in your own drinks and popcorn?
  24. The link only seems to be to book a collection, not to order and pay for the bags?
