Where were they found? I can't find any mention of that anywhere.

If you look at the thread in the link above, as well as time and commitment (and expertise) it needs a fair bit of money spent. I suggested a crowdfunder, but obviously there is no point having the money without somebody/some people to do what needs to be done to the software and then to run and moderate it. A huge commitment I would think, and Mark deserves a medal for keeping it going so long. It's a massively useful local resource and it will be a real shame if it closes, but I can see why others would be loath to take it on.

How do you know why people voted as they did?

Apparently swifts are now on the red endangered list, and their numbers have plummeted, presumably because of the drastically reduced numbers of insects for them to eat. So anything that can be done to help them breed is great.

I've now had a second flyer for them pushed through my letterbox! Whatever else, they are certainly working hard on promoting the place!

I am fully in support of these sentiments, but I agree with KidKruger that this incident should not be reported unless the true reason for closing the pub is known. There must be some way of finding out. The pub is nowhere near the cemetery, so other pubs must have been approached, if that's actually what happened. I'm a community shareholder in The Ivy House, which is very near the cemetery, and to the best of my knowledge they neither closed down nor had any trouble of any kind. -
The only reason I wouldn't vote Green in a general election is that I think Helen Hayes is an excellent constituency MP, as was Tessa Jowell before her.

That's very useful to know as I won't be accumulating such masses of stuff in the future I hope (I had been avoiding going into shops) so I can take them up when I'm passing.

That might be easier than packing them up and queuing at the Post Office. They might be able to mend the glasses I just sat on, too 😂

I went in today and asked one of the assistants. She didn't know. She asked another one. She didn't know either 😂 I think although it's further away I'll stick to the Sainsbury's recycling bins. Also I'm less tempted to go and investigate their food (I came away from M&S with Florentines. I feel a bit sick now 😂)

After a frustrating time yesterday trying to apply online and being told there was a problem with my ID, I eventually got through to someone today. Apparently even though I have new digital photos I have to apply by post because "you are over seventy and the photo on your driving licence is out of date." Well yes. Isn't that why I am sending new photos? You have all my other ID information. FFS. The woman I spoke to was very helpful, but HOW RIDICULOUS 😡😡😡 and why is there no mention of this in any of the information I received, which is clearly marked "70+" ??? 😡😡😡

Matheson Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Contact lens waste recycling: > https://www.visiondirect.co.uk/recycling-contact-l > enses I've used this now, it was very easy, thanks. You print out a label and take the package to the Post Office. I had quite a large boxful. Postage is free. The worst part was the queue at the Post Office. I probably shouldn't have gone the day after their strike! I did the whole of the Grauniad quick crossword and started the cryptic one 🤣

Result!

Amazed to find three big bins for the recycling!

rachp Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Food bags- Co-op definitely take them, I take all > my soft plastic there now, it?s really handy I just took a small number of my bags there, searched all over the store for a bin for them, eventually asked at the till and was told they don't take them???

Compost these days is very variable in quality, particularly with the move to peat-free composts. However, you shouldn't need to be mixing it with topsoil for use in containers. Where did you get it? What brand is it? Did you Google reviews?

Sorry to repeat the question, but I am hoping to take my plastic bags up to Sainsbury's DKH tomorrow, so I need to know if they take bags which things like FROZEN peas or FROZEN fruit have been in? Sorry for shouting!

Apparently the Lordship Lane Post Office is closed due to industrial action. Forest Hill Road, Evelina Road and Dulwich Village branches open. That's all I know (was posted on my road's WhatsApp group).
