The then landlord was not popular on here for many good reasons. Including fake posts on here bigging up his own pub and slagging off other local pubs. "Crushed and devalued" was how the fake poster described s/he (not sure which, his wife was also involved) felt after visiting another local pub, can't remember which one. It was a running joke on the forum for a time. Then there was a lovely couple who were really turning the pub around, and also brought in a really excellent chef. It was them who renamed it The Cherry Tree. The aforementioned unpopular landlord (who unfortunately at that time also owned the pub) did not seem to like someone else bringing in more customers than he had, and he kicked them out. Either he also kicked out the excellent chef or the chef left in protest/solidarity, can't remember which. There was then a load of further argy bargy and mudslinging on here. Oh those were the days 🤣 Then eventually Mr Unpopular sold the pub. Sighs of relief all round. But as regards the EDT, I suspect the problem is not just pricing but location. Also the EDT is just generally a nicer pub, in my opinion. The main advantage The Cherry Tree has is its garden.

I think mingling with people in a crowded room after a positive LFT test, however relatively low the risk to them, is antisocial to say the least.

Well, he is continuing to abide by the advice given by a medic on 111.
  4. He has made the decision to follow the advice given by 111 and not to go anywhere where he would be mixing with people until he tests negative (which he still hasn't done. Tenth day now.) He realises the chances of transmission are small at this point, especially if he wears an FFP2 mask, but he doesn't want to risk infecting anybody else, however smnall the risk. He had symptoms initially, but has been symptom- free for a few days now.

  6. Peckhampam Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There is no requirement to self isolate at all! Well, there's a moral obligation, I would say. I probably wasn't clear in my post. What I should have said was, are they still likely to be transmitting the virus. The person phoned 111 again and this time actually got put through to a medic, who advised that he should not be around other people if still testing positive, so he is continuing to self isolate. ETA: The reason such a large proportion of the population now have Covid is precisely because all the "requirements" were taken away.

I do feel for you, what a horrible situation.
  8. I'm a bit concerned by "before I .... Go away ...." Are you having counselling, and if not, might it help? You can self-refer, you don't need to go through your GP. https://talkingtherapiessouthwark.nhs.uk/

  10. Can someone tell me what is the current situation, as the latest NHS advice (page last reviewed 14 April) is unclear, at least to me. If someone has had symptoms, but now doesn't have any symptoms at all and feels completely normal, but is still testing positive on the seventh day, do they have to continue to self-isolate? 111 refused to give any advice, on the basis that the person had no symptoms !!!! (It isn't me who had it, I'm asking for someone elae).
  11. I also need to renew my licence. I don't have a current passport. Does that mean I can't apply online, because they don't have a current passport photo?

  14. I think that's all a bit unfortunate, given that the package was apparently correctly addressed but wrongly delivered. I am sorry you are housebound, but could not the person you gave it to have delivered it to the correct address? Posting on here was a bit of a long shot 🙄
  15. Sorry to be dim. I am also a "lone woman". I don't see the problem, if you complain about noise, with having someone come to assess the noise from your bedroom, if that is where it is disturbing you? Presumably you are not going to answer the door in your nightgown? 🤣
  16. Barry Parade???
  17. Why on earth would someone be sectioned for taking part in a protest against the continuing use of fossil fuels? It isn't the people protesting who are insane 😡

I didn't mean just the footbridge, which yes is at the top of Cox's Walk. According to the map at the entrance to Cox's Walk, that whole side of the woods which would have been reached by the footbridge is now fenced off 😭 So yes, it's the part of the woods on the right if you are coming from the Wood House. I was in another part of the woods. I'm assuming the path which used to run from the far side of the footbridge (ie not the Cox's Walk end) is no longer usable in either direction. Apologies if I'm wrong.

  21. Bloody hell, what a horrible experience. At least from what you say nobody was physically hurt?
  22. My mail has been arriving on time since Royal Mail finally upped their game in East Dulwich.

  24. If you are in their catchment area, The Gardens is good.

Thanks You can still do this. The part of the woods affected by the closure is on the right as you come into the woods from the Wood House direction. But do you mean the Plough? Or the old Harvester? The entrance to the woods near Lordship Lane is opposite the old Harvester/Grove. The Plough is further down opposite the library. If you don't walk to walk along main roads to get to it, you could go via the park.
