What I do notice however is a persistent faint smell of gas on North Cross Road at the mural end, near Superdrug. I have been meaning to report it for weeks.

Message on my road's What'sApp group: Just spoken to a poor harassed looking postman. The only thing they are delivering are Covid tests as they have to be delivered next day. Otherwise everything else is backed up and he?s no idea if there will be anything before Christmas. ETA: Ulverscroft Road.

There is a camera at the South Circular end of Underhill Road. As I sadly found when I tried to return from my allotment that way! So having nurtured my Christmas tree all year, it has cost me ?12.50 to bring it home, and will cost me another ?12.50 to take it back :( Unless I can find another route ......

I use iD which runs on the Three network. I suddenly can't make calls or text. Is anybody else having the same problem? ETA: It was something at their end, sorted now. Grrrrrr.

Would it pick you up if you were coming from the Forest Hill direction and turning left? Asking for a friend 🤣

Why did it take so long? -

Marjoram Wrote: --------------------------------------------------- > things at the sorting office are clearly very bad > right now. It seems to me that things at the sorting office have been clearly very bad since the Sylvester Road delivery office was closed and our deliveries now come from Peckham. Royal Mail should be unprivatised, if that's a word. All it cares for now is profit for its shareholders. Any care for a reasonable, let alone good, level of service went out of the window ages ago. Covid is just a convenient excuse. Meanwhile our old sorting office was sold for flats. So-called 24 and 48 hour tracking is an absolute joke. And the posties' workload is increased because they now have not just the original package to deliver (eventually) but its replacement as well when the first one doesn't arrive. And then the counter staff at the Post Office have extra work to do when one of those two items, whichever finally arrives last, has to be returned. It's an absolute shambles.

So what is the point?!

I've just posted on this in the Covid section. Unless you do the test in front of the person checking and hold up the whole queue while the result develops, you can just show someone else's test or photo of the test, or just lie? Surely? And you could upload someone else's result and say it was yours? Have I missed something obvious here? That's why at our gigs we ask for proof of double jab or proof of exemption only, and check against names. Even that probably isn't foolproof if someone was sufficiently determined.
-
Can anyone explain to me how showing evidence of a negative lateral flow test works? Surely unless you actually do it in front of the person checking you in (clearly not feasible if there are long queues), you could just use someone else's result? Or just lie?

You might want to post this in the lost and found section as well? And say what the girl's name is, in case somebody on here recognises it? -

You don't get black charring on your feet with an electrostatic shock, do you? OP is the shop owned or leased? If leased, surely the landlord is responsible. Have you tried asking the Citizens' Advice Bureau if the council environmental health department is not being helpful?

Purveyor. Especially if followed by "of fine..." something or other. Grrrr.
