I'm also in a vulnerable group, but they should be treating everybody the same, regardless, given the seriousness of the present situation, surely? I reluctantly decided to make a complaint, because I think this is quite a serious issue, if Tesco are not training their staff during a pandemic which is getting worse.

  3. I just had a Tesco delivery. I had four or five crates full of stuff which came without bags, so that I had to put it all into my own bags at the door. The crates were too heavy to carry into the house and unpack them there. The delivery person just stood there, next to the crates, practically breathing into my face, without a mask, whilst I did this. Except he didn't do that for very long, because I had to ask him to stand further away once it became clear that he wasn't going to do that of his own accord. I've never had to do that before, and it was a bit embarrassing. Surely Tesco must have rules, and surely they must train their staff? I haven't had the same issue with Sainsbury's - they have stood at the gate and only come closer to take the empty crates away. Has anybody else had this, or was I just unlucky?

  9. I've never been able to pass it without sniggering at the name, sorry :))

But obviously Covid won't have helped, plus we've just gone through the holiday season. There has been a lot of previous discussion about it on here, I seem to recall, but I can't now remember what it said. I do remember that at one point my then postie said to me something along the lines of "You don't know the half of what's happening down there" (ie at the Peckham office).

Many departments text as well as sending a letter. I've had the same happen, but luckily I had also been sent a text. I don't know why they don't all do it, even my hairdresser reminds me when I have an appointment due!
  12. They'll be finished before they even started at this rate. Like something out of Tenet 🤣

Closing the Sylvester Road delivery office caused the problem. Nothing we can do now. Some of us - and Helen Hayes - tried to do something at the time, but all water under the bridge now.
  14. I am receiving multiple duplicate texts today from the same person. Apparently this can be due to intermittent connection issues at either the sender or receiver's end. Just wondering if anyone else has had this today? I'm with iD, which uses Three, and I've never had any problems before. She is with a provider using EE (I think there have been EE problems round here? But she doesn't live in East Dulwich).
  15. Perhaps it's art 🤣 But if they want to plant trees, which I'm all in favour of, couldn't they do it on the area/s behind the fence where people throw rubbish? (or did, I haven't been up there since lockdown).
  16. Saw it, didn't follow it, read the below, still don't know what the hell happened 🤣🤣🤣 I still enjoyed it, though 🤣 We saw it up the road, there were only four people there! https://www.vulture.com/2020/09/tenet-explained-whats-going-on-in-the-plot-of-this-movie.html Empire described it as "bonkers". I agree. Bonkers in a good way, though! All the acting was brilliant, apart from Michael Caine, who just seemed to be going through the motions. But then - he's Michael Caine ..... Oh, and there were a few good jokes amongst the violence 🤣
  17. I've just received this morning (21 September) 20 bulbs of Gladiolus Byzantinus which were posted on 17 August, second class, with an estimated delivery date of 19 - 20 August. Unfortunately I had forgotten all about them, or I would have contacted the sender ages ago (I have now). They look much as you would expect small bulbs to look which have evidently been languishing in a delivery office for a month in very hot weather, ie sad little long brown sprouts emerging from the bulbs. I doubt they're viable, but who knows. I'm not a happy bunny. GRRRRRRRRRRRR. ETA: They only came from North London, as well.

I think the skate park is great. As you will see from my previous post. I signed the petition. However it is not helpful in a pandemic to have a large group of mainly young unmasked people gathered together watching the skateboarders with no attempt at social distancing at all. It isn't about being "respectful and tidy". It's about not passing on a virus.

  22. This work has been progressing really well. Conway are already more than half way down one side of the road. They will be finished long before their estimated date of 12 December, at this rate. I'm well impressed 🙂
  23. I'd say it was completely appropriate to post the screenshots and/or links on here. If I was looking for a carpet cleaner, I would want to know about this so I could avoid him. Thanks for posting.
  24. Place was packed this afternoon. No social distancing in evidence.
  25. My Private Eye for 28 August to 10 September also only arrived a couple of days ago. Does anybody know what the outcome of Helen Hayes' visit was?
