  1. ms9 I was a bit bemused by your private message, as I don't live on your road! I did reply to it but you haven't read my reply, so I'm deleting both messages as I need the space!
  2. Just tell the bus driver you are waiting for a replacement, and in my experience they will let you on without a pass. Mine once got mangled because I kept it in my back jeans pocket and sat on it once too often. Helps if you look the right age, of course 🤣
  3. I still have a flock of up to thirty sparrows coming to my bird feeders. And an occasional robin (usually on the ground).
  4. On the contrary, it's riveting and I'm bored enough to post. I always use the Met Office app anyway. Not that that's always particularly accurate.

I didn't think anyone would notice, it being such an unimportant election 🤣

Afua Hirsch's excellent book Brit (ish) has some upsetting stories about stop and search.

  9. teddyboy, I'm not suggesting you are wrong, but can you say where you got this information/good news from?
  10. I know it was always predicted as a possibility, but everything I had read till now suggested it wouldn't get this far. Yes, utterly shameful, and also Trump still has weeks to do his worst re foreign policy and God knows what else.
  11. This is a bit unexpected (by me anyway): https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/nov/09/william-barr-vote-irregularities-donald-trump-election?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

  13. Oh that's excellent news, I thought they had permanently closed?
  14. If this is the same person who grabbed somebody in the park and started kissing them, then he is not "harmless", I would have thought. What did the police do when they caught him? Was any action taken? Is this man getting help/treatment?
  15. 🤣🤣🤣
  16. I just re-read Metamorphosis (Kafka). Suggest you don't 🤣

  18. For my road, a couple of the residents took the initiative of setting up a WhatsApp group and then dropping a note through the door of every house in the road giving the details and inviting them to join. Not everybody did, but they had the opportunity to. People moving into the road since then were also contacted. So if nobody has done that in Friern Road, I guess you could always start a group yourself? I've found ours very useful for sharing information.
  19. Mine was a letter delivered through the door (no envelope).
  20. Pugwash Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Had an out patient appointment at Kings yesterday > and although people booking into the clinic were > wearing masks, nurses were asking them to change > from cloth masks to the blue/white disposable > masks - no explanation given. That's been going on for a while. I imagine the reason is that if you don't wash your cloth mask frequently it is pretty useless at doing the job it's supposed to do, because it could hold the virus (I don't know the science of it) They can be sure that a disposable mask is clean.

Have I misunderstood? You have spoken to them but they still haven't dealt with it?
