There is no positive side. There will soon be another person in the world who has half BJ's genes.

  3. Thanks Monica I will PM you.
  4. For anybody else interested, the adjustable backrest from the Amazon link above seems excellent (InTexas kindly lent me one to try). Sturdy, quite lightweight, doesn't slip about on the bed, and less than twenty pounds (couldn't find it cheaper elsewhere, though of course I will have to buy something else to get free delivery grrrr). It is quite large, but provided I can find somewhere to store it when not in use, I will be buying one! The cushions are fine but the backrest definitely gives more support. ETA: The backrest fits under the bed when folded! Hurrah!!
  5. You don't have to read it!
  6. I really hope they do better this time round, however the room just feels characterless. It isn't really enough just to put candles on the tables. It wouldn't cost much to have some plants or ornaments on the windowsill, or some cut flowers, would it?
  7. I have kindly been given some sofa cushions, which are great - just the right level of firmness. Plus they match my bedroom colour scheme!

Edited to say it's Hindwoods I am referring to! I hope whoever moves in will keep the lovely old things at the sides of the door (don't know what they are called!)
  9. I notice katesonic has gone very quiet. No explanation or apology for your bizarre posts, then, katesonic?

Is this the place who wouldn't take in my parcel in the afternoon, despite having no notices up to say so, and made me lug a really heavy and bulky parcel all the way to Barry Road despite the fact they could see I was practically in tears? The one on Lordship Lane between the Coop and the roundabout? Or is this another miserable one? ETA: Just googled it. Sorry should have done that before. It's a different one. Never had any issues with Kaival then, and sorry they are closing.

    Bees

I have a number for a local beekeeper, which is 07717 840475 She would probably know if anyone else is missing a queen locally. Not that I know anything about bees :))

When I was at school we used to roll mercury around the benches in physics lessons. Which could explain a few things ... :))

  16. The Ivy House is having an open day soon. Maybe you should go, katesonic. https://www.facebook.com/105277386183305/posts/2981024535275228/ You could find out what being a community pub is all about, and help shape its future direction. Meanwhile, perhaps you could share with us all exactly what you mean by your comments above referring to a brothel. You said: "My concern is that a local community resource has become little more than a 'brothel' of an evening. Judging by the way certain staff 'are' appreciated." As a community shareholder, I would like to know exactly what you mean by that, please. Thanks.
  17. WTF? A lot of people put a lot of time and effort into saving The Ivy House from becoming flats. I have community shares in it. I run music gigs there. Lots of community things happen there.Lots of families and kids go there. Please explain what you are on about. Do you know anything about The Ivy House? Maybe you should have a look at its website: https://www.ivyhousenunhead.com/ ETA: their website is currently in a strange shape because their server recently went down and a lot of data was lost. I'm sure they would appreciate it if anybody can offer any help with that!

  19. In addition, the household products I have seen being sold by these people are very very poor quality for the price being asked.

Somebody on another thread on here (I think, unless it was on Facebook) has said that you can.
  21. That's worrying that somebody here wrote that graffiti in the first place, though :(
  22. These people have been trying it on in East Dulwich for years. Yes it's a scam. Sorry!

I googled the York test. There seem to be quite a few disgruntled people on Trust Pilot .... Also there seems to be an issue over whether what it specifically tests for is relevant to IBS. I will do more research! I was already taking a prebiotic and a probiotic, but I have stopped taking Inulin pro tem in case the fibre is contributing to the problem. Whereabouts in Peckham is Naifs? (Edited because it went over the page, so it wasn't clear what I was responding to!)
  24. What's a "delinquent centre"? Surely it isn't called that?
