  1. There were no hold ups at all when I passed about 8.30am yesterday morning towards Denmark Hill, nor coming back towards ED about 10am. Though there wasn't a lot of traffic.
  2. Did he say why it had overturned?
  3. I wasn't suggesting doing a survey, with all that entails! I was suggesting you phoned (or emailed or otherwise messaged, as appropriate) the surgeries of which you are in their catchment area, and asked them directly. I wouldn't have thought there could be that many of them. I have known of hospital specialists who later became GPs. But Soylent Green's advice above seems like your best option.
  4. Stop outside the station was closed this morning
  5. I just passed there on the bus this morning, and the wider pavement didn't look any wider than it already is a bit further up the road?
  6. Sorry to be dim but I have no idea what you mean. What I mean is, what is the evidence in the public domain that leads you to post on here that there is "a lot more crime in Dulwich than you can see", and to specifically mention launderettes and car washes?
  7. What is the evidence for this?
  8. You might have more chance of a reply on the Forest Hill forum (if it still exists)?
  9. That's amazing nobody was seriously hurt, but good, obviously!
  10. Great to have some good news! Had he gone far?
  11. Yes, if you know how to do it and can teach me 🤣
  12. So this BBC article begins with two Kurdish asylum seekers who are "later released". It doesn't say why they were "later released " But presumably because the police could find no evidence that they had done anything criminal? But never mind, the seed has been planted in readers' minds. FFS.
  13. Is there evidence/information that it was a Veolia lorry, though? And surely a driver wouldn't have been using a mobile while turning right (obviously shouldn't have been at all, but while turning would be even worse)? What qualifications/experience/skills etc do you have to have to be taken on as a bin lorry driver?
  14. Maybe they have changed the system, or maybe I've just forgotten how it works. Mine was installed as a one off after I requested it (having worked out that it would save money). Yes, it would seem odd for Thames Water to install a meter which wasn't requested, but then not to communicate anything at all to the house occupants, especially if neighbours in the same road said they didn't have a meter! I'm wondering what TW said to EDmummy101 when she contacted them?
  15. Oh yes, you're right. So it could have been a Veolia lorry
  16. Nothing for veggies, then? 😭
  17. Crikey, that's bad. Yes, from the photo it looks like it skidded. A private operator apparently, so not Veolia. No information as to whether anybody was hurt, but unless there are mitigating circumstances (eg the driver suffered a sudden health incident or the brakes failed, though it shouldn't have been going fast enough to need the brakes at that point, surely) it looks like a prosecution for a driving offence is likely? Do vehicles like this have some kind of technology which retains the speed history etc?
  18. Why is it a terrible place for teenagers?
  19. Before I switched, if memory serves there was some sort of thing on Thames Water's website which you could use to determine whether or not you would be better off with a meter. No idea if it's still there. Also, I have a vague recollection that if you found you were worse off financially with the meter after a certain time period, you could switch back. Have I imagined that? Whatever, I don't actually recall hearing of anyone who thought they were worse off with a meter, though I'm sure there must be some.
  20. I think probably the OP is still on the old non metered system if they haven't actually signed up to the meter which was installed? If so, the amount of water used won't affect their bill. As posted above, water bills in this area have gone up/will go up (not sure which) by more than 30%, so that would be a big increase regardless of a meter, if I've understood it correctly. I think we are paying for the privatisation of Thames Water and their greed and inefficiency, basically, but what would I know?
  21. Sorry to be dim, and sorry if I've missed it, but how could widening the pavement in a place of heavy pedestrian use be part of a council anti car policy?
  22. I think it's usually on a different weekend to the Goose Green fair, so maybe not part of the actual Dulwich Festival and not publicised with that?
