Then those members could just be removed by admin?

Some Facebook groups I am in are, or have become, private groups, because there are so many trolls on FB. Including a group set up to discuss birds 🙄 There are probably downsides to that as the admin has to approve all prospective members, who have to agree to certain rules I think, and I'm not sure it's failsafe. It's certainly time consuming for the admin. But probably less time consuming than having to pre approve all posts? Also, I wonder whether it should be made clear on the "new" EDF Facebook page that the "old" one had no connection with the real EDF? PS Thank you Joe for all your time in doing all this, on here and on the FB one. It's much appreciated.

I'm glad you are making good use of your car, but bemused how you are saving on petrol by only half filling every 3-4 weeks? Unless this prevents you using the car as often as you would like, surely you would use just the same amount of petrol, and spend the same amount of money, if you filled it up completely every 6 - 8 weeks? Have I missed something here?

Has anyone got a cordless (battery operated) strimmer in good working order which they no longer need? Ours keeps cutting out. Thanks!

We had lunch here today. It was really good. I had a salad bowl with falafels. You don't have to have chilli and garlic - they ask you when you order. It was a really generous portion, all very fresh, and the excellent salad came with three very large and tasty falafels, two stuffed vine leaves, hummus and tahini. Excellent value. I can't remember exactly how much it was, but around £6 to £7. My partner had a wrap, which he said was good too, and a freshly squeezed juice. We ate in, but I took half of mine home to eat later. There were people in front of us, but we didn't have to wait long. They have a loyalty card - free drink the third time you go, free side the sixth time and a free wrap or bowl the tenth time. Highly recommended!

I've been here since around 1990 (gasp) and I don't remember a Tesco on that site either. You will have to walk to Peckham!

There certainly seem to be many more than there used to be. It used to be just Iceland and the Co-op, if memory serves! I think Gourmet Burger Kitchen may have been next. And Cafe Nero?

Help! I plugged an external hard drive into my laptop to see what was on it, and now I can't eject it because it has started doing something. I'm getting a message that it's currently in use, close any programs or windows that might be using it, and try (to eject it) again. But I've closed everything down that I can see. It's got an enormous amount of stuff on it, documents photos and music, which I don't want to lose. Could it be synching to OneDrive? What shall I do? Just wait till it's finished whatever it's doing? Surely whatever it's doing shouldn't have started automatically? I hate my laptop with a vengeance 🤬 It has caused me nothing but trouble since I got it. I also hate Windows 11. Rant over.

Is that not only true within certain hours? I just did a quick Google and this came up (not specifically Southwark): The Noise Act 1996 defines "night hours" as 11 pm to 7 am, and local councils can take action if noise levels are excessive during this time. This means they can issue warning notices or even investigate for a statutory nuisance if the noise is particularly disruptive, according to Gov.uk. I'm sure it's more complicated than that, and I'm sure it's been discussed on here before, though I can't remember which thread.

I did use a mains powered battery charger. It didn't work. The battery was completely dead. My garage also tried, with presumably a stronger charger. That didn't work either. That was why I had to either bin the car or get a new battery 😭 I decided in the end to get a new battery and keep the car.

Yes, at least in London there is good public transport! I once lived in the middle of nowhere. There was one bus a week which took people into the nearest largeish town to shop in the morning, then brought them back in the afternoon. Another world! I never actually used the bus, because I had a (different) car!

My garage tested the battery and it was indeed completely dead. I bought another one. With the fitting etc it was extremely expensive. I now intend to use the car more 🤣
