Unfortunately, lovely as it is, it wouldn't be a suitable venue for the forum drinks. Not enough space for people to mingle and get to know each other, and it would get in the way of other customers. Upstairs at the EDT has comfy seating, lots of space and is quiet on a Wednesday night, so we will stay there, if the managers let us! The next drinks aren't arranged yet, but will be in September. We had a break in August as so many people are away. My partner and I will be coming back to Maria's for another delicious meal, though!

Ban dogs altogether? Guide dogs? Dogs who can detect various illnesses? Sniffer dogs who can find missing people and things like explosives? Guard dogs? Sheep dogs? Dogs who provide friendship and comfort to people who don't otherwise have it? And how on earth is reducing the food consumed by dogs in, say, the UK going to provide food for starving people elsewhere?

It seems to me that possibly some people got dogs during Covid but knew nothing about dogs (and still don't know much) and other people see them as some sort of fashion accessory and mostly just ignore them. I love dogs, but knowing the time, expense and commitment that goes into having, exercising and properly training one, I don't have one myself. I just say hello to other people's.

My GP practice (The Gardens) now has a system whereby you can message them with non urgent medical queries, and if necessary attach photos etc. I've found this really useful, I have had replies from a GP quite quickly. It saves everybody's time because you don't have to book a phone call and hang about for it, and you don't have to sit in a waiting room when the GP may be running late. And both you and the GP can message at the most convenient time for each of you. If the GP thinks you need to be seen, they book an appointment with the appropriate person (I was recently told I had to see a nurse, and I got an appointment the same day).

You asked if someone could find out where the dog was. Someone did. So presumably the address is known. That was the reason for my post. The rest of my post was to identify the post concerned. I can see that wasn't clear. Sorry. There's no point my editing it, as then your post won't make sense.

Somebody posted above that they have spoken to the people concerned, who are looking after the dog for a relative, but not all the time.

Doesn't Kings have a minor injuries place alongside A&E? Maybe I've imagined it. I wish they would ban speakers on phones there. I recently unexpectedly had to go to Kings late at night due to 111 making a mistake and then phoning me several hours later to tell me I had to go to Kings and no it wouldn't wait till morning. In the waiting room I eventually got to after having "medical history?" barked at me etc etc (what do they want, a list of all my ailments since childhood?) there was a TV with the sound on quite high, plus three people all watching different things on their mobiles with the sound on even higher. That was in addition to the usual other disruptions, people shouting etc etc. It's not a great place to be at the best of times if you are ill or injured (I don't mean the medical care, which is generally great once you have got as far as getting it). The only upside was that at least I was able to get a late bus home after I had been treated.

Has anyone else seen enormous numbers of green parakeets flying over ED this evening? I've never seen so many flying in one place at once!
