  1. By being on the forum for nearly twenty years?
  2. Have you reported it to Thames Water? If nobody has, they may not be aware that there is a problem?
  3. I agree, delivery of tracked items is very reliable.
  4. It's a forum. For discussion and differing opinions. I do not "respond constantly to everything" - another exaggeration. I post on forum threads where I have an opinion or information to contribute, as do many others. The forum name you have chosen is interesting. I use my own name. "Head girl" ??? !!! My school would have laughed at that description 🤣
  5. I can't get mine to print out small enough. Maybe it will have to be a T shirt 🤣🤣🤣
  6. I've been posting on here for nearly twenty years. So that's around 3 posts a day. "no words"? You seem to have quite a lot of words, many of which are not very pleasant. Thank you for foeing me, whatever that is. I am beginning to think that you and Louisa are some kind of Troll Twins, conjoined at who knows where. Or possibly you are Louisa. Who knows.
  7. Hey, that's brilliant. I'm going to make a copy to take to the Forum drinks. I shall wear it with pride 🤣
  8. It was. I hadn't realised I was a "weed nerd" 🤣
  9. "Followed around on this site being goaded"? It's a forum! There are discussions! People have different opinions and disagree with each other! It would be very boring if everybody agreed on everything! Insults, however, are a different matter. People, glasshouses and stone throwing spring to mind.
  10. "Senior Public Affairs Manager" 🤣🤣🤣 "Customer Operations Manager" 😂 Loving the job titles. "Mail deliveries are taking place six days a week" ".... no mail currently awaiting delivery ..." (could that be because it hasn't been sorted for delivery yet?)
  11. Other people may want to read Earl Aelfheah's responses to your posts, though, even if you don't! 🙄 And what on earth is a foe list?
  12. Not according to the article I posted on the previous page!
  13. That's lovely! Good for them!
  14. He will be permanently asleep 🤣
  15. Has anyone got their service back yet? When I put in my postcode, it is claiming there are no network issues in that area, but I still can't make or receive calls. Also it appears that outgoing texts are working, but I'm not getting incoming texts. WhatsApp is all very well but not much use for places you need to phone. ETA: Don't know exactly when it was sorted, but I was able to make and receive calls and texts by 8.30pm (Wednesday).
  16. Saturday's was a total non event, sadly. I don't recall Summer events in North Cross Road similar to the Christmas Cracker. I imagine Christmas draws more people to the shops there than Summer.
  17. Yes. First, the description might be wrong or misremembered. Second, that description might apply to a number of different individuals or groups, most of whom may be completely innocent of any wrongdoing Third, unless you are in a position to help someone being attacked and can do so safely, it is never a good idea to take matters into your own hands, which can just escalate the situation.
  18. Posting in case other people are having issues and wonder why. I can't make or receive calls or retrieve voicemail messages at the moment.
  19. As it turned out after my post, the police have photos. And even if they didn't, the OP reported the incident to the police, who would have asked for a description. However there are all sorts of problems with eye witness descriptions, which would just be multiplied with several kids involved. I stand by my post. Are you suggesting a full description of these kids should be posted on here so that ... what? Vigilante action by forum members? And if there was mistaken identity? Then what? Even if there wasn't, there could be all sorts of background issues relating to this sort of anti social behaviour. It should be left to the police to find and appropriately deal with the perpetrators of criminal behaviour. The police are far from perfect, but the alternative just makes a general slide into lawlessness more likely.
  20. That's a gross exaggeration. All of it. But maybe you just intended to provoke that response?
  21. If it's anonymous, how are you going to ensure that respondents aren't just making stuff up? That's a serious question.
  22. I have an open fireplace in my living room. I burn those smokeless log type things, but it's not my main source of heat (gas central heating). They are ok but very heavy, and bulky to store. But it's nice sitting opposite a real fire occasionally on a dark Winter night and watching the flames.
  23. The second ED Forum drinks will be Upstairs at the EDT on Wednesday 16 July from 7pm onwards. If you would like to meet other Forum members in real life, do come along! We (Nygel and I) will provide labels if you want to put either your real or your forum name or both. You don't have to - it just makes it easier for people like me who can't remember names or faces (there are a surprising number of us about, I have found). It would be great to see lots of you there!
  24. We have booked the lighter area (by the windows) Upstairs at the EDT (East Dulwich Tavern) on Wednesday 16 July from 7pm. Thank you to several people who suggested this space. The upstairs bar won't be open, so please buy a drink downstairs before you come up. If you have mobility issues, or otherwise need help getting up and down stairs, please message me on here BEFORE the night. One of us will arrange to meet you on the ground floor and help you negotiate the stairs. Looking forward to meeting more forum members!
  25. As I just posted on another thread, surely the bridge cannot have been fit for purpose in the first place if it has to be replaced so soon. Either the contractors or whoever in the council approved the spec must be responsible for this, and if the contractors, surely they should rebuild it? I would be interested to know exactly what is making the bridge unsafe. If it is the materials used, similar bridges over water in the Wilderness Island nature reserve in Carshalton have been (re?) built using a strong man made material which looks virtually identical to wood but is not slippery when wet, and does not rot. Surely this must have been available when the Dulwich Park bridge was built. I don't know the financial implications, but hopefully Southwark Council did not put cheapness before safety.
