  1. Have you asked in Celestial, Steve? I'm so sorry now that I didn't take it home with me, but unfortunately I thought it would be better if I left it where it was in case its owner came back to find it. But it's possible that the Celestial staff may have taken it into the shop if it was still there when they closed. The reason I went in there in the first place was because they had a notice in their shop window saying they had found some keys. And they wouldn't have been open on Saturday evening when you went to look for it. Fingers crossed ......

  4. Putting aside any question of legality, I really can't see any difference between having a drink when looking after a child in a park playground and having a drink when looking after a child in a pub playground. If you're incapable of looking after the child as a result, that's a different matter, but surely unrelated to the location??

  6. Sorry I meant to post this yesterday. Yesterday afternoon (Saturday 30 May) there was a small child's pram (ie presumably owned by a child) with what looked like a toy lamb inside left between Celestial and the DIY shop in Lordship Lane, which was still there every time we passed. The people in Celestial said it had been there for some time. I do hope somebody remembered and came back to get it before it got drenched with rain :(

I'm so sad I open my junk mail, just in case - unless it's clearly from Virgin or an estate agent :))

  12. I particularly like the fact that it's addressed to "The lovely person who lives at ......" Crumbs. So everybody who lives in the area they think is Nunhead is lovely, eh? Or maybe it was just me, and everybody else got "The really horrible person who lives at ....." :))
  13. Anyone else in SE22 received a letter this morning from "The Streetlife Team" inviting them to "join the online community for Nunhead"?? They say "It's handy for sharing practical information like crime alerts, lost pets and community events, and for exchanging skills, belongings and recommendations with locals." Do they not actually know where Nunhead is? Have they not actually checked what "online communities" aka forums exist already? Duh.
  14. Here we go again .....

They often have excellent bargains. I'd love to see one in ED. Not going to happen though, is it? I will miss Iceland's excellent free range eggs at a pound for six, and some of their frozen stuff. I no longer rate their fresh veg though :(
  16. Tony Fisher of Fisher Auto Repairs in Thornton Heath (not local but quite near). 07930 202 297 or 020 3417 8324. Say Sue with the smashed up Micra bonnet recommended you :) Or rather, recommended him :)

Thanks but it wasn't me who was looking for the knitting group! I don't have time to knit though I wish I did :)
  18. There is also the Dulwich Folk Choir, meets Upstairs at the EDT on Tuesday nights at 7pm, very friendly, good mix of men and women, no auditions, no need to read music. ?4 a session, pay per session. Term time only. Many of the members get together to do singing things outside the choir (not just folk things), so you might well find people who were into forming a Barbershop Quartet (or whatever) with you. You can just turn up, but if you want more info beforehand, PM me and I'll give you Aimee Leonard's contact details (she runs the choir). Hope you find what you're looking for!

So clearly, I am not "a sensible property owner". Damn :))
  23. Pretty sure The Ivy House will let you bring your own food. Also The Old Nun's Head. Both in Nunhead, but not very far from ED, and both have good spaces and lovely staff :)
