Surely they won't just take your money and leave you with no tree? If you phone the hospice, they are sure to have a contact number for the people who sold you the tree, so you can re-arrange delivery.
  3. Thanks Fox, I knew they had recalled one batch earlier (which mine wasn't one of, grammar), but not that they had recalled them all. But it's irrelevant as mine never turned up anyway :)) ETA: But crikey, well remembered that I had lost one :))
  4. Conratulations, and cerebralations etc etc ad nauseam ......

I haven't read all this thread, I'm just idly browsing before bed. so I'm sorry to jump in. I obviously don't condone the Charlie Hebdo murders, but in my opinion the cartoonists were poking a bear with a stick. The nature of how Muslims/Mohammed were portrayed in the cartoons was compared by many to the portrayal of Jews in cartoons in Germany before and during the war. If that comment isn't relevant then please ignore, I don't want to send the thread off course.
  6. :))
  7. Not in previous years. Get there early though!

Might that be because everybody was leaving Melbourne Grove in droves not long ago, so they have fewer patients? Or have I mixed them up with some other practice? Profuse apologies if so, Melbourne Grove

  10. "Grab a bargain". "Grab" used in any way at all unless describing a greedy child.

Until fashion changes and the houses are converted back to their original Victorian state again :))
  13. Great! Thanks, JulieP :)
  14. robbin Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Have. > > Should have been. Maybe you should post it in the irrational rage thread. Should of been/could of been drive me mad (der) as well, come to think of it :) ETA: Posted to remove an unnecessary comma before the punctuation police pounce as well :)) Sorry Foxy!

  16. Does anybody know if St Johns on Goose Green will have a carol service on Christmas Eve this year? There is nothing on their website that I can see. If not, any other local churches? I'm looking for a late evening service to take visiting relatives to. Thanks!
  17. The people you are hiring the skip from are doing this every day - have you asked their advice? I've only ever had one skip and I left my own car outside my house for a few days if memory serves. But then I seldom use the car - I can see that isn't a solution if you need the car!
  18. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?9,1613316 ?!?!?
  19. Thanks James. Please let me know if you need any further details.
  20. Yes I will tell James Barber. Yes feeling much better thanks! My partner says I need to wear a bin bag over my head with eye and mouth holes cut out to avoid scaring the locals :))
  21. I've just been PMed by somebody who fell in the same place. That's three so far.

It could have been very much worse, and given that somebody else fell in the same place, I do think this particular stone needs sorting. I agree the pavements are bad everywhere though.

You could spray the bare branches gold or silver?
  24. Thank you to all the lovely people who stopped to help and gave first aid, the shop who provided ice and the person who called an ambulance when I tripped over a raised paving stone in Bellenden Road yesterday afternoon and fell on my face (literally). My face looks rather scary today but I didn't break anything (except my glasses are the worse for wear) and I didn't need stitches. Spent the afternoon in A&E instead of at the Pexmas Christmas market, however :( A passer by said she had broken her arm when tripping over the same paving stone, so I wonder how many more of us there are. The stone was outside (or near) Casa. Please PM me if you or someone you know has also tripped over this stone, as I intend to contact the council before anybody else is hurt.
