Apart from the one who thought it was a good dating ploy to send me a link to a website dedicated to his dead wife.

I can guarantee that my idea of fun and my SOH will not be the same as those of anybody describing themselves as either fun-loving or having a GSOH :)) ETA: It's the dating equivalent of those places which describe the stuff they sell as "stylish" :))

Anybody who describes themselves as "fun-loving" or having a "GSOH" is to be avoided at all costs whatever their body size ....

Individual thermostats on rads helps as well. Until I had those, I always found the upstairs rooms were far too hot, because heat rose from below but I had to have the heating on quite high to have a comfortable temperature in the living room.

My sister is in a long-term relationship with a man she met through Guardian Soulmates many moons ago. I've used internet dating sites in the past. When I've been unattached, I hasten to add :) I think you have to choose the site carefully - depending on what sort of person you are looking for, of course! I used Guardian Soulmates and Love and Friends, no idea if Love and Friends is still going. I also did actually meet some friends, through their forum, some of whom I'm still in touch with years later. As Annette C says, it's just another way to meet people. I'd suggest you do meet up with them quickly though rather than having long email correspondences or whatever, as somebody who seems like your ideal person through their writing may not be at all when you meet them, and you might not be attracted to them in the flesh (hoho) at all. Also you have to meet a hell of a lot of people before you find one where there's mutual attraction :)) , or at least that was my experience, so it depends whether you can be bothered :)) Also you usually know immediately you meet them whether you are interested or not, but in order to be polite you have to stay and talk to them for a reasonable amount of time ..... One thing that did piss me off was many people's obsession with age, which also led to many people lying about their age. I could sort of see why they did it, but it made me wonder what else they were lying about. I met my current OH at a party in the end, quite unrelated to internet dating.

Blimey, Minkey, that sounds (no pun intended) terrible.

That's absurd in the extreme. The situation where you live in a flat and have a separate upstairs flat above you with people walking about on an uncarpeted or unsoundproofed floor is completely different. Edited to make it clearer who said what.

What is the definition of "stomping around", anyway? "To tread or trample heavily or violently on" came up at the top of a Google. Especially these days when many people have uncarpeted floors and stairs, it's a bit unreasonable to expect them to tippy toe around their own home :) They probably hear you making noises as well, youandiaredominoes, they just don't complain about it :) I'm currently being driven slowly mad (der) by a neighbour's noisy boiler going on and off when I'm trying to sleep. Waiting for it to fire up again is a bit like waiting for the next plane to come over. I guess people are sensitive to different kinds of noise. But basically if you live in close promixity to other houses, as most people in London do, you just have to accept that you hear noise from the people living there. As I said previously, that's quite different to the original complaint on this thread about somebody having an all-night party. Unless it's a one-off celebration and they've warned the neighbours in advance, that's just anti-social.

yeknomyeknom Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- We have loads of them! > Our garden is like the playboy mansion. xxxxxxxx :)) :)) :)) Lucky you to have so many! I have discovered another frog in my tub, so there must have been a bit of hanky panky going on after all :) It seems to have been lurking behind the pile of bricks, but occasionally comes up to the surface and pokes its head out. This one is quite lively, whereas the original one is still lying pale and still at the bottom. But occasionally shifts position so I think is hibernating rather than dead .... fingers crossed. It doesn't appear to be decomposing, anyway! Was doing some research today and found out quite a bit about frogs and frogspawn - here's an interesting link about why the spawn may disappear :( http://www.arc-trust.org/advice/FAQs/spawn_and_tadpoles/disappeared.php On another note, I saw quite a few bees yesterday!
-
Last years spawn was from your froggies :) I shall be gutted if this lot doesn't hatch, I was so excited!
-
Last year the spawn all disappeared when I was away one weekend and I've never seen a duck round here! Have only seen one frog and the tub is quite small and the water clear so don't know where another one could be hiding! Do you mean unless there are two frogs it won't have been fertilised? It has black specks in the middle which Iassumed were mini tadpoles!
-
My frog has woken up and laid a load of frogspawn! How can I stop it being eaten this year? I can't net the tub because the frog won't be able to get in and out The spawn is right at the top. Should I move it to the bottom somehow?

Have you asked your energy provider? There have been cases where people have been charged for other people's usage etc
-
But Sainsburys opened some time after 1991 didn't it? If the mural was painted after that, it can't have been there 25 years before it was then painted over? Because it was painted over years ago? I'm still confused because I remember a totally different mural which more or less covered the whole side of that house! Wondering if I'm mixing it up with another mural somewhere else!

Xxxxxx Bloody hell, I pay less than that for both gas and electricity for a three bed house Though I do mostly wash my clothes in cold water unless they're really dirty. Have you got a combi Boiler? Have you tried to get a cheaper energy deal? Would it be cheaper to pay by direct debit?
-
If you know your consumption, or your bills, there are loads of online sites where you can compare different energy providers and find the best one for your usage and location. If you then lose the will to live, you can do it on the phone (though the help I've had in the past has varied from excellent to crap). Some places used to actually pay you to switch to a cheaper provider. Maybe they still do.

If memory serves, they didn't even sell bags at one point - I asked them how I was supposed to carry the wine home and they more or less shrugged their shoulders. Can't now remember how I did get it home without dropping it :( Environmentally friendly is all very well (and great to encourage people to use their own bags, as for example SMBS do), but not when it positively inconviences your customers.

Shouldn't you be putting this in the business section, reflexchick? You're asking for trouble putting a thread about reiki in the lounge .... you will attract the derision of everybody who thinks it's a load of bollocks (not me, btw)
