Yes, > I did use a match pot and was obsessive about > which colour to go for. xxxxxx The problem is, the same paint will look different in different lights and on different walls. What you can do is to still use a trial pot, but instead of painting direct on the wall paint some large-ish sheets of paper. Then you can put them in different places in the room and see how they look at different times of day and in natural and artificial light. I agree you should re-paint it. You'll never be happy with it if it isn't what you want now, however you try to accessorize it. ETA: Sadly though, you may not be able to get the absolute exact colour you want. I had a particular shade in mind, couldn't get a match at all and ended up with my default position of white :(

I do find the zoom control rather fiddly, but the quality of the pictures it takes is excellent. When I was travelling (before the days of digital) I lugged around a Canon SLR with a Tamron lens that went from wide angle to zoom (28 - 200? in pre-digital numbers), got some excellent pix but think I'd probably take something rather smaller if I did it again! ETA: A polarising filter is very useful if you're going to Australia (if these things are still used?!) ETA: Have a great time :)

Downloading on my phone uses the WiFi when it's connected, no? ETA: I'm aware calls and texts don't use WiFi :) -
You could google those models and see what reviews they've had from users and mags?

decorative art Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The Question should be, has anyone tried to go to > a grotto in W1 with two children under Five? > xxxxxx The Question should be, why should somebody take advantage of the difficulties of taking small children up to town by charging frankly ridiculous prices for a local visit to Santa, real reindeer or not. This may be Dulwich/East Dulwich, but not everybody can afford to shell out ?18 a child plus money for adults plus money for photos etc.. Are people allowed to take their own photos? I'm guessing probably not, but happy to be proved wrong. ETA: And last time I bought a takeaway for a small child, it didn't cost ?18 :))

Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > "Thank God for the NHS"?? You must be joking. xxxxxxx No, I'm not joking. I can't afford private healthcare (and don't believe in it anyway) and on the whole I've got nothing but praise for the treatment I've had on the NHS (apart from the "consultant" accompanied by a load of students who diagnosed a ruptured ovarian cyst/peritonitis as food poisoning ...... but private healthcare doesn't exactly have a great record on things like that, either) Would you rather we did away with the NHS and had a system like they do in the States? The NHS (and education) started to deteriorate in this country when income tax was reduced in order to gain votes for the Tories, in my opinion. What did people think their tax was being used for, FFS? ETA: Sorry for the rant, I'm ill :) As you were .....

Married to a transsexual... can it work? On Radio 4

Apart from anything else, that must make it easier for others in a similar situation to talk about it as well. -
I don't have a problem with this provided people aren't actually killed in order to eat them. However I don't think I'd want to eat anybody I'd once known :)) Wouldn't mind anybody eating me - don't really care what happens to me when I'm dead, provided somebody has made damn sure that I am actually dead (and not by shooting me - not that kind of making sure) :)) ETA: I don't normally venture into the Drawing Room - am I allowed to have smileys?!

What sort of age were the kids? Very little ones might be just focused in on the sweeties and didn't think to say please or thank you? Were their parents with them?

Revised new - M&S planning application to replace Iceland..
Sue replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Actually it can be offensive, see below. Adds hastily, but despite being in the relevant age group I wasn't personally offended. (But I'll defend the right of anybody else to be offended :)) ) geriatric [ˌdʒɛrɪˈ?trɪk] adj 1. (Medicine) of or relating to geriatrics or to elderly people 2. Facetious, derogatory, or offensive (of people or machines) old, obsolescent, worn out, or useless n 1. (Medicine) an elderly person 2. Derogatory an older person considered as one who may be disregarded as senile or irresponsible See also psychogeriatric [from Greek gēras old age + iatric] And yes, surely there can be little more left to say about the Iceland / M&S thing, unless there is more actual news about what is happening to the building ..... -

No problem with texts, calls or downloading stuff today, and no problem yesterday when I wasn't at home. -

How are they getting them upstairs in the first place? There isn't a lift ..... ETA: Ah - just realised it says Dulwich Park. I thought it was the Lodge upstairs at the EDT :))

I also have no hesitation in recommending Russell. He did a great job on my bay roof - admired by all who see it :) - and was efficient, reliable, friendly and reasonably priced. I'd definitely use him again. ETA (9 December 2020) The bay roof I have now had to be rebuilt last year as part of insurance work due to subsidence, and as the insurers arranged it, it was not done by Russell. Therefore (if anybody knows which my house is) please don't think the bay roof was done by him. I would rather it had been!

Otherwise, it's not clear quite what point you're trying to make, as actually the figures don't really "speak for themselves", do they?

I was in Cheners bookshop recently when Roksana came in with a beautiful notice for the notice board with a tiny (origami?) 3D piano on it! I wrote down her mobile number, which is 07796 173583. I have grade 8 piano but haven't played for a long time, and I was so taken with her ad that I think I may have some lessons - I've even just ordered a new piano stool :) ETA: My sight reading has always been a bit crap, so I'm encouraged to read the posts above :)
