  1. Sorry damzel, I misunderstood :-$
  2. It's legitimate but if you google loft insulation grants you will probably find that there are companies providing it cheaper than this one. The company Southwark Council is recommending is not the cheapest.
  3. damzel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We only had the brown bin emptied today (last week > we had a successful brown and green collection). > My blue bin won't last another week (I'm amazed > how full it's got!) xxxxxx I think the brown bin gets emptied every week, but the blue and green bins only on alternate weeks. My green bin was left blocking my way out of my house, and my other bins thrown all over my plants - again. Why do they think I have a bin recess?

Painting a bit of a bleak > picture there Sue for all those council workers > who do their very best to get things right. xxxxxxx Fair point, apologies, yes probably just outbreaks of disarray.
  5. DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My large Brown Bin still not emptied dispite > living in same road.. > > Fox xxxxxxx That's very weird, because I'm sure they weren't just collecting mine, as they stopped for ages further down the road. Very near your place in fact, Fox. The whole recycling scheme seems to be in complete disarray :-S

  7. Michael Palaeologus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > As nobody can prove what they were doing at the > time, they are Innocent of the crime. > xxxxxxx No, they are not necessarily "innocent of the crime." They may be. They may also be guilty of the crime, but because it cannot be proven, they are legally presumed to be innocent. That's a totally different thing. Their innocence hasn't been proven either.

Then that's another "coincidence" or whatever which just adds to the stack of circumstantial evidence which doesn't actually prove anything but added together might indicate, er, let's say, something amiss with the duo's version of events. Or, as it seems, versions.
  9. My small brown bin was emptied around 1.30 yesterday. Definitely by the council as sadly it coincided with my leaving on an Ikea trip, and I and two other cars had to reverse down the road between two rows of parked cars plus one double parked, and then do an illegal (I think) reverse turn back into North Cross Road to get out of the way of the ****** lorry. Bad enough having to go to Ikea without that :)) So, can we expect another emptying on Tuesday when it's supposed to happen, or what?
  10. Eh?!

Whatever way you look > at it, her behaviour was odd. xxxxxx Thanks for that - I read the article and some of the comments (until I lost the will to live :) ) I've worked with autistic teenagers in the past but am by no means an expert on autism, however some of the people commenting seem to think that they know better than the experts! I do think it's an interesting possible explanation for some of her inappropriate behaviour - though I wouldn't have thought it would explain the lying?

  21. Funnily enough I've just had one about half an hour ago purporting to be from Northern Rock fraud department but clearly not. What's a bit worrying is that I've only quite recently bought a Northern Rock ISA so I wonder how they knew or whether it's just a coincidence. I've forwarded it to Northern Rock's phishing department (and obviously not clicked on the link in the email :)) ) ETA: OOER, what's really weird is that when I went to delete it, the email from "Northern Rock" had disappeared completely from my system. I know it existed because it is at the bottom of the forwarded email in my "sent" box.

As soon as I hear the word "computer" or similar, I put the phone down :)) But good for you for taking their dosh, Fox!
