  1. There's always been a pre-Christmas craft fair in the hall next to the Irish shop in Lordship Lane, does anyone know if that will be there this year?

And yes, I've been both for Sunday lunch and in the Summer. Apart from the fact that it has a kids' playground, which is good if you have small kids, I can't understand what anybody sees in the Herne, frankly.

The bendy 12 was > never as packed as that in the morning. xxxxxxx Was it also packed upstairs? Because I've often noticed that people jam up the downstairs on a double decker, particularly around the doors, when there are lots of empty seats upstairs.

Unless you like squelchy swirly carpets and the smell of piss wafting from the toilets whilst you're having a pint.

Usually if the CPS don't prosecute it's because they don't think there's a high enough chance of a case succeeding, eg not enough evidence, I thought?

  22. OK I've had several glasses of red, but I just want to say, if people didn't eat meat, then there would be very few cows, sheep, pigs or hens in the countryside, if any. At least they have a life, even if a fairly short one. And I personally think battery farming is a load more cruel than animals getting their throats slit. I used to live on an organic farm. Strange as it may seem, the farmers really cared for their animals, and their welfare, even though they were going off to be slaughtered at the end of the day. I was a vegetarian once. Now I'm not. But I would never knowingly eat animals who had spent their lives in a cruel environment.

I've often got a train from ED at weekends. ETA: What happened to that very helpful guy (Barry someone?) who was in charge of the trains round here and used to have a thread on the forum? I'm sure he would sort it out, should it need sorting out.
