I think this is brilliant - great script, great acting and totally believable. Haven't watched this week's yet, was that the final one then?? :-S

sophiesofa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Anyone else experienced this? xxxxxx I once came home to find a note "Parcel left in bin." They had left it in my wheelie bin on top of the rubbish :)) Luckily it wasn't a collection day ..... Another time a book I had ordered didn't arrive so I phoned to find out why, and was told it had been left "on my wall" - not surprisingly, it was nicked, given that "on my wall" is right next to the pavement in full view. The funny thing was the book was called (wait for it) "How To Get Things For Free." This is absolutely true. At least the thief must have had a good laugh when s/he opened it, though I doubt they found the book very interesting :)) Neither of the above was due to Royal Mail or Parcelforce, they were both private couriers.

I went in there once to look at the price of a coat, and walked straight out again. Didn't have time to notice whether the assistants were sniggering about my age behind my back. :)) ETA: I will go into places like Top Shop to look around, and yes I'm aware that almost everybody else is younger, but it's never even crossed my mind, anywhere, ever, that a shop wouldn't want me to be seen carrying their bags because I don't fit their usual customer demographic.

That's so brilliant and also so funny. Don't know why, but it reminds me of Del Boy falling through the gap in the bar :)) Pity the mugger when his mates get to hear about it (or rather, don't - serves him right).

Spent the day in the garden yesterday, amassing huge amounts of out-of-control climbing stuff cut down. Changed, washed twigs and dead leaves from hair, went to library to get brown bags for said huge amounts of stuff. Library had "run out" of garden bags. If I had a bonfire in my tiny garden it would probably burn my house down, not to mention all my plants, so now I have a massive pile of stuff I can't immediately dispose of (only a tiny part of it will fit into my green garden bag). How can they run out of bags? Why didn't someone notice that they didn't have many left, and order more before they ran out? Autumn (and to a lesser extent Spring) is surely the time of year when these bags are in highest demand? (6)

snowy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Either way, I'll be in Brockwell Park. xxxxxx Same here, though I hope they've sorted out the way they get people out of the park at the end of the event. The last time they had a display there it took what seemed like hours to disperse the crowd. Everybody was trying to cross the main road, there were massive bottlenecks at at least two different gates, and they really should have had police or other officials controlling the traffic at the relevant crossings.

Be careful, Lamis, I've twice taken in cats who I thought were strays which turned out not to be. Some cats do wander into other people's houses, especially if they think there's a chance they may be fed. I had one try to get in my back door only yesterday :))

Evie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Maybe people should be fined for leaving their > bins on the pavement xxxxxx I have for years been labouring under the impression that the bin people were supposed to replace the bins where they found them, is this wrong? I had a bin recess built outside my terraced house, but they still leave the bin on the pavement (or worse, blocking the path to my front door) and just chuck the recycling boxes all over my plants.

Because I've had a bellyful of individuals who claim they can "do this" and "do that" and then make a total mess of it (6)

You will have to wait for ages going through various menus (tip - it's 2 then 2, you don't have to wait till the end before hitting the 2) and then for ages more while they drone on and on before telling you to hold on if you need to speak to somebody. I've been waiting for a new smaller green bin for over a month. I phoned today to find out where it was. The first person I spoke to cut me off, so then I had to go through the whole process again. (6) Eventually spoke to somebody else, and all they could do was reorder it. So another few weeks (6)

I think we're stuck with it. All I managed to wring out of them was a promise to use a more appropriate shade of blue in the future, but since every house has already got one of the bright blue ones, I can't see that making much difference. You do know you can have a box or continue to use your existing dark blue box, rather than having a wheelie bin?
