If you read Malumbu's post properly, you will find out why he wrote to Ellie. Oh, ooops, I mean Ellie Reeves. Just in case it wasn't clear who I meant 🙄

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham - 2024 Edition

Typo? 😂 What sort of music?! -
I wouldn't have understood FOT 🤣

It's not so much size in deciding which one to go to, it also depends on transport links, how far you are willing to travel, how much time you have available, and whether you are going to buy so much stuff that you need to take the car (if you have one)! 😄

Thanks, but I quite enjoy wandering around Lidl and seeing what's in their centre aisle 🤣 Also they have interesting snacky things at Christmas. Is the one in Sydenham bigger? I can't remember. Sorry admin, off topic. As you were!

I love Lidl, but that would be a rubbish site for it, and there is one a short bus ride away in Camberwell. Where I will be heading to get my Christmas lebkuchen ❤️

There is a search facility on here which will bring them up if you want to read them.

Because it's a maximum stay of 2 hours and presumably only the first 30 minutes is free?

Somebody appears to be making money from it, albeit not much. Who?

But if she's just singing, how would that be a welfare issue? I realise it's at unsocial hours, but if the noise team can't help I'm not sure how the police could? Unless you could present it to the community police as a problem between neighbours, but she may not realise it IS a problem! Someone above said she doesn't open the door. You could try putting a note through the door? Or perhaps a friendly card along the lines of "I'm sure you don't realise .... but ...."?

I don't want to be negative, and maybe I've misunderstood the purpose of CCTV, but if it's supposed to be to identify people I'm not sure how it would help if the attackers are masked, unless there are other identifying features?

F**k off Trump would be my three words. Only without the asterisks.

Love Dulwich Bistro (New Cafe/Bistro) 89 Lordship Lane

As megalaki84 never posted again with anything to substantiate their allegations, I think we can probably assume that they didn't actually get food poisoning from Love -
"Donald Trump has been and gone"? We will soon find out 🙄

Royal Mail - late deliveries - what is happening?
Sue replied to Borderlands's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I don't think they would be happy if I phoned in, I'd be ranting on for hours 🤣 -
Whereabouts on Grove Vale is it? Seems a bit daft to have no seats! Do they have large capacity machines, and if so how much is the wash?
-
Annual outbreak? Why is that? And how did they manage to suddenly find more people when the Met had had their overall numbers so drastically cut?

The police can't be everywhere, and they have to prioritise. There should be more of them, and they should be walking the streets, like they used to. It is hard for a passerby to intervene when you don't know if the attackers may have knives. Also, you don't know what your reaction may be if faced with a violent situation. I was once on a bus where a young man was kicked down the stairs by two youths. The driver did nothing except open the doors to let them out, and to my utter shame I retreated to the back of the bus and didn't do anything either.

A forum is for people to express their opinions! It would be very boring if everybody had the same opinion! You presumably didn't "frequent this forum" in the old days? It was toxic compared to how it is now. -
Royal Mail - late deliveries - what is happening?
Sue replied to Borderlands's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This is not about late deliveries, but honestly ... Yesterday I heard a load of stuff being shoved hard through my (small) letterbox. I went to pick it up and the pile included a very bent (so bent that the cardboard was completely broken across) cardboard backed envelope clearly marked in large red letters "Please do not bend." I went out holding the envelope, and the postie (one I had never seen before) was now two doors down, so I said (fairly politely I thought, under the circumstances), "Excuse me, this says on it do not bend". He just scowled at me. When I opened it, the contents were unusable - it is something which needs to lie flat, and it is now permanently bent. I have complained to Royal Mail, and the sender is kindly posting me a free replacement, so I just hope it isn't delivered by the same postie. GRRRRR. I also hope this isn't the calibre of the new posties they have taken on. Can they not read? Do they not think to try ringing the bell if something won't fit through the letterbox? ETA: My lovely regular postie delivered the replacement today, together with another packet also marked "Please do not bend". He must have made a special trip, as surely usually this would not have arrived for weeks 😮 -
Yes. The council doesn't come round and put salt on every icy patch as soon as it appears in Winter. And as for those bad trees dropping their blossom in Spring ....
