  1. Oh, lucky you, miss loaded. What other shops do you walk around and just freely buy whatever takes your fancy, even though you don't need it, because its just so cheap? Should we keep you away from Moxons too? Changed your forum name again, have you?

    Air fryer

Jay Rayner doesn't think you can cook decent chips in an air fryer ... 🤣 https://www.theguardian.com/food/2022/oct/09/chips-in-an-air-fryer-they-are-dull-dry-and-very-sad-as-am-i?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  3. I haven't even got mine yet 🙄
  4. I agree it's often good quality, and very good value for money.
  5. I went online today to track a package supposedly being delivered today, and there is a load of stuff from Royal Mail about why items may be delayed at the moment.
  6. Easier all round to just get groceries delivered, I have found, once you add up the costs in time, fuel (if driving) and general inconvenience of shopping in person. Not that I use Sainsbury's if I can help it, after some bad past experiences.
  7. I don't understand. Sorry to be dim, but was this an item ordered from Argos online, to be collected at the Argos in the DKH Sainsbury's? If so, and it has somehow gone astray before getting to Argos, surely it is up to Argos to either find it or replace it?
  8. The trouble with Lidl is, it's so cheap you end up buying a load of stuff you don't really need. Like IKEA. I have to stay away from Lidl for that reason 🤣 And yes, there is one just down the road from King's.
  9. These are great! On one now and passing lots of different kinds of retro buses going the other way! Thanks so much for telling us about it!

Sorry, duplicate post. That was meant to substitute the post above. It's taking me a while to get to grips with this forum 🙄

    Air fryer

There's also the space it takes up to consider, plus the appearance of it if you have to keep it on a worktop all the time. Don't get me wrong, I think for a lot of people they would be great, assuming you can afford the initial outlay.
  13. I stand corrected 🤣 But none of it is East Dulwich, so I agree with Malumbu that the thread should be in the lounge 🤣 And please God BJ comes nowhere near ED.
  14. Huge sympathy. Re the council issues, in particular the rude response, you could contact James McCash, or whoever your local councillor is. That is just unacceptable from someone who is dealing with the public. Re the other, you could at least ask the builders to turn the radio down (or preferably off, though good luck with that, as many builders seem oblivious to the fact that there are people around who are trying to work or sleep or are ill or who just want to live quietly in their homes) . And you could try to find out when the work will be finished, so that at least you have some idea. And if there is actual damage, inform your insurance company as soon as possible if you think you know the cause, as possibly you could get this paid for by the building firm involved ( though I have no idea!)

    Air fryer

How much would you have to use the air fryer to recoup its cost in energy saving? I read that it's cheaper to batch cook - fill the oven and then freeze what you don't use immediately, in suitable sized portions for the number of people who will eat them. Obviously this assumes that you have a freezer with spare capacity. You can also do this with stews, stir fries etc cooked on the hob. Once frozen, you can either let them thaw naturally before you reheat them, or if you are in a hurry microwave them (not in the same container. You can briefly run the container under a tap to loosen the contents, then put them in another dish). I don't much like cooking, so I've been doing this for years, not to save money, but to get a load of cooking done in one go. I can see in some cases cooking in an air frier might be healthier, but only if you are currently eating a lot of unhealthy deep fried foods, I would have thought?
  18. Stradella Road runs between Dulwich Village and Herne Hill, so if it is correct that he is moving to that road, it would depend which end of the road it was.

    Combi sewer

I have a manhole cover over a drain in my front garden, and it is definitely Thames Water's responsibility up to the road. In fact they fairly recently repaired the drain and installed the manhole cover. Whether you can actually get to the right Thames Water department and then actually get them to do the repair is another matter entirely. I had been trying to get them to repair the drain for some time. The broken drain had been identified during resin injection work beneath my front bay It took a sewage overflow in my case. They said they only did repairs if something like that happened 🙄 I imagine in your case it's a safety issue, so maybe they will respond more quickly. Good luck!
  21. Same here, and I too received a load of post all at once after not having had any for ages. I'm in the North Cross Road area.
  22. There are places online where if you put in your model number and details of what part/s you want, with your email address, they will circulate it around a number of different businesses who wil contact you directly with price, delivery charge etc. You can then choose who you want to buy it from Sorry, I don't have time to find the details, but should be quite easy to find if you Google something like auto spares or VW parts. Good luck!
  23. It's usually possible to get things like this second hand online, I guess from what used to be scrapyards? If you Google what you are looking for, it should come up.
  24. Thank you for posting this.
