That would have been a good idea, but for the fact that someone recently trailed blue paint all over several walls in my road, apparently deliberately 🙄, so I'm not risking it. Also a cat trod in it so there were blue paw prints (and presumably a cat with paint on its paws 😭) Thanks for the useful link, h3+, and the other replies. I did think I had seen paint cans at the tip in the past, which was why I was confused when I checked on the website. I will take them there!

Southwark Council's website says the recycling centre does not take "paint tins" but paint is not mentioned anywhere. I have a load of paint tins with unused (and so old that it might be unusable) paint. Some of them are full, or nearly full. What can I do with them? Put them in the green bin with the paint in? I've found another website (not the council) which says that the Southwark recycling centre does take paint, so now I'm thoroughly confused. And it also says not to put paint in with general household rubbish. I've got to do something with it!

Chern Thai Cafe On Grove Vale - Revised Opening Hours
Sue replied to Zak's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Is it still closed on Saturday lunchtimes? -
There has been one on Goose Green in the past, which I believe was provided by the nearby primary school.

I suppose very convenient for all the builders working round here, but what happens when every house has had its loft extension and side return extension kitchen? Just a never ending round of redecorating?

I go to the one near Camberwell Green now. Easier for me to get to, several buses go there from Lordship Lane (though I don't normally make a special trip, just go there if I'm in that direction anyway)

Screwfix???? That's a strange place to have a Screwfix 🙄

I know, I've already got loads of them. Hence my reference to Lidl lebkuchen 🤣
-
I think it was already vandalised some way back. But hey, it's the lounge! It's a festive thread! Anything goes as long as it's festive- related! Or even if it isn't! Anybody else eating too many of those German iced spicy lebkuchen things from Lidl and then feeling slightly ill? Anybody else discovered that more than one supermarket has not one Christmas pudding available for sale online, but they taunt you with all the various Christmas puddings that would have been available in the brief window between them going on sale and them becoming unavailable? GRRRR. I'm not feeling festive now. I'll have to GO OUT IN THE COLD to find a Christmas pud 😭🤣

Which is the best curry restaurant on Lordship Lane?
Sue replied to bh28's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
None of them any more. Edited to add: I agree with the posts below that Kokum is excellent, but it isn't on Lordship Lane and it is in a different category of restaurant to the run of the mill places on Lordship Lane. And also considerably more expensive! -
Surely it's "God bless us, every one", not "God bless us everyone"? That doesn't make sense 😕 I was going to say that the face of that child at the end nearly made me throw up, but it's Christmas, so I won't. Oh. I did. Sue: Not keen on Dickens. Likes quotation marks. Didn't think they were necessary in the post complained of above, and in fact would have detracted from the post. Relights blue touch paper and stands well away. 🤣

Curious Christmas greetings from the Leader of Southwark council
Sue replied to kiera's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
🤣🤣🤣 Not to my knowledge! -
Ooops, yes I did mean Camberwell.

Isn't there one in Peckham, in that road that goes towards the Oval?

Curious Christmas greetings from the Leader of Southwark council
Sue replied to kiera's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Presumably they recalled it because of the typo, but didn't do it properly, so the recall email went out to everyone but the email they intended to recall didn't get recalled? I haven't had any of them - I won't take that personally, either 🤣 -
I'm finding local NHS communications quite difficult at the moment. Their new MyChart system doesn't seem to link up with whatever is sending automated texts about appointments, or with anything else. So I have more than once had contradictory information in different places, eg getting a reminder in one place about an appointment I have changed the date of (grammar) in another place. I know they are still bedding in the system, but this seems a bit of a basic thing to sort out. And I know they have to have high confidentiality/security, but I'm finding logging in each time an annoying nightmare, having to go into my email on my mobile to get a validation code. Is anyone else having problems?

I've been trying to change a physio appointment and I can't get a ring tone (?) either on the main switchboard number or on the off-site physio number. I've checked it isn't my mobile. Does anyone have any info? I will try other contact methods, but I know the physio department has a massive backlog of emails, and it's impossible to know if they are picking up texts via the automated system.

Oh dear. Looks like someone put it in the bag upside down 😭

Ex offenders selling on the door steps - SE22
Sue replied to Caesi01's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
He has been in Ulverscroft Road today. Apparently very angry and intimidating to several people who had the misfortune to answer the door to him (according to the road What'sApp group. He hasn't called at my house). Very similar to what KidKruger has posted above. -
If you scroll to the bottom of the page, there's a "contact us" link . At least there is at the bottom of mine! I'm on my mobile, on the EDF app.

Pubs will usually let you use their toilets if you ask politely at the bar. Also other places if you are really desperate and ask politely. In my experience, anyway.

That is really annoying for you. This is a really stupid question, but could Amazon somehow have your wrong address? When my parcel wasn't delivered recently when it was shown as delivery attempted, I was told that possibly someone could have mislabelled it (I did get it the next day, and it did have the right address on). However that was an Amazon parcel using Royal Mail for delivery, not Amazon directly.

You said Khan "remains a huge liability to London in general". If you weren't referring to his efforts to reduce emissions and pollution (and hence to affect climate change, however minimally and belatedly) perhaps you could be more specific in why you said this at all in - yes! - a thread about bus frequency!

Royal Mail Late Deliveries and the price we have to pay

I have just received my first Christmas card, posted 18 November. Usually this arrives in November 🤣 Not the same one, obviously, but from the same people. With a lengthy handwritten letter 😮
