  1. Re Woburn, once you are onsite, there is nothing to stop you doing anything. There is no reception at the pool. No one would know if you are a new guest or an old one as you don't pass anyone to get to he pool. Nothing to stop you just piling on in.
  2. I'm a very experienced recruiter of over 10 yrs and have lectured on CVs and presentation. I would be happy to give your CV a quick once over if you like. Just PM me.
  3. Woburn might be different. But we looked up on here and mumsnet all what to bring and had a sharp knife, extra toilet roll, dishwasher tabs etc etc. but when we got there is was all provided. There was literally nothing we needed to bring in that respect.
  4. When I did my research people said just pick the closest park to you as they are so similar. Mmwe went to woburn 3 wks ago midweek. Loved it. Have rebooked again already. You don't need a bike. In fact it's hilly so bikes are a drag. Don't pay extra to pick your lodge. It's small enough that everything is close to the centre. We bought all our food and brought it with us but the supermarket is great, huge selection, not as pricey as it could be. Yes more expensive than Tesco, but it's convenient and worth a bit more I think. Bring your own alcohol though as its well overpriced. If you want the cr?che you must prebook, it's fully booked all the time. We had the lodge with the jacuzzi, steam and sauna and games room which was ace but next time will go for the one without the steam and sauna that's a bit cheaper. It was lovely but we didn't have time to make the most of it. We put piles of monkey nuts outside our patio doors everyday and had ten plus squirrels and phaesants. There are some roadworks going on at woburn so give any lodges opposite the pool a miss. Have fun, I miss it.
  5. Thank god for that. I don't want that any more.
  6. I do yoga and it helps with stress and the physical effects of stress. However, meditation might suit if you don't need the exercise. There's a class I think every Monday at goose green. It's about relaxing and breathing and letting go. It helps in the moment and helps develop coping mechanisms for real life. X
  7. You should buy this: http://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/ping-pong-door
  8. We got a letter this week from dmc cp claiming we were endangering our childs life by not having him vaccinated for typhoid and diphtheria at 8weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks old and to bring him in for vaccinations immediately. My son is 2.5 yrs old and fully up to date with all vaccines. Glad to see they are in control of our personal records.
  9. Maybe try airbnb for a whole house nearby
  10. I've been to the mondrian at sea containers on southbank. Very lovely but pricey.
  11. I saw things getting delivered today. Furniture and internals and what not. So if they are receiving this sort of stuff it maybe looks hopeful.
  12. Yum. I visited the Child friendly Trio on Bellenden road this morning. See my short review here: http://showmelovelylittlethings.tumblr.com/
  13. Yay! Thanks. They are cool aren't they. I found them on kickstarter. The artist has just released bandanas too. I'm not into bandanas myself but a cheaper and easier to ship way to own some of his stuff.
  14. I'm a local mum and am experimenting with my own blog. If anyone follows these things please check me out and support a fellow mum: http://showmelovelylittlethings.tumblr.com
  15. Not quite what you are after but great for storing bulk Lego or other toys: http://en.smallable.com/5100-play-and-go?ectrans=1&utm_campaign=1115236437&utm_medium=email&utm_content=1135243409212&utm_source=Emailvision
  16. I like Cubana. Good for drinks after too. Especially mojotos. In the other direction Gabriel's Wharf had a few spots and the wharf itself is charming, reminds me of being on holiday in San Francisco.
  17. Yes. We have had two horrible experiences in there. But they are good for local foot measuring. She seems a little entitled. But that's just my opinion (and my husbands, wh went there seperately to me).
  18. We got lovely shutters from shutters up. Very affordable on a smaller bathroom window. Allows privacy and light.
  19. Yes.m there is a car park. Not loads of spaces but I've not seen it full yet. It's free.
  20. We had our buggy stolen from our front garden last year. I suspect it was taken by one of the many white vans patrolling the streets for scrap metal. Such a waste.
  21. Our cleaner's minimum time is three hrs but she does our whole house in that time plus irons 5 shirts for my husband to wear to work. We leave cash out for her. ?9 ph. We are around when she arrives for an hour and then get out of her way. Previously we have used a larger company and given them a set of keys. I think it's pretty hard to get a cleaner on the weekend to be honest. I know it can feel awkward having someone in your house re conversation and seeing all your stuff etc. but many of them aren't from england and therefore prefer to make polite conversation and then get on with it. Which can be a godsend. Something to make sure of is that you ask for someone with good English speaking skills. It's a nightmare if you want to instruct them and they can't fully understand. My cleaner is polish but speaks ok English which is enough to get the job done. Wouldn't do without her.
  22. I agree, it's ridiculous around here. I don't mind telling them I'm not interested. I do mind the knocking in the first place as it wakes my child.
  23. We bought a Dwarf rabbit which was apparently well handled by humans as a baby (important). Turns out she wasn't a dwarf and wasn't friendly. She bit if you went anywhere near her and her teeth were very sharp. She used to chase us round the house and bite our ankles. We loved the vicious monster but I would never get another.
  24. I believe the pet shop is closing. It would be great if this new shop stocked a little bit of pet food too!
