  1. Hahaha I could do that one too *Bob* - what memories that brought back. Although I think my brother discovered it first. When he was seven.
  2. Can't say I have ever noticed anything either. But will remember to take note next time I open any :)

  4. Oh and powerpoint. Mustn't forget that one.
  5. I can use Excel. Does that make me a computer programmer?

  7. How would you feel about moving to an area that ... are you sitting down?.....doesn't have a Waitrose. Could you possibly cope?
  8. Lords Reform. Not one of Labour's success stories. Tony's cronies did alright. And now its Dave's faves...

How could financial institutions provide a suitable product for the customer if it was based on incorrect or deliberately dishonest information provided to them by the customer? Or is this more about them doing sufficient checks before dishng out the products so still they are at fault? (The banks).
  10. Ibilly99 - duh this thread is for VW owners not wannabe owners. I bet it was your crummy driving that had everyone fearing death rather than anything to do with the van. The 'grinning idiots' 'waving' at you were likely thinking "oh no here we go, yet another couple of ageing ex-clubbers having a mid-life crisis and wearing tie-dyed t-shirts listening to badly dated shite techno/trance on their way to the mudfest for some debauchery before returning to their mundane corporate roles the following week". Consider your application refused.
  11. Darn you maxxi, are you calling my copy&pastefromwiki skills into question here? Or are you trying to bring this back on topic? Or perhaps both.
  12. Indeed. Of which the symptoms of this socio-economic concept has for some time served as an important metaphor to illustrate that the banking system is vulnerable to competition. The "race to the bottom" implies that the banks compete with each other as each tries to underbid the others...so as to make itself more attractive to outside financial interests or unattractive to unwanted outsiders. The alternative implies a more sanguine system in which [banks] use their authority and discretion to develop innovative and creative solutions to common problems which can be then adopted by other banks. I know which I prefer.
  13. If I'm being entirely honest, i'd like to see Darren Bent, whoever he is, try his hand at driving a tube train whilst tackling the problem that is prevalent nowadays of rewarding boardroom failure.
  14. There's a new drive-thru* Clownwash on East Dulwich Road. I'm surprised you missed their advertising trailer /4x4. *(You have to remove their bow ties first though.)
  15. Hi the Minkey - I haven't a clue but I spotted some sage advice on cleaning sheepskin from Ms Annette Curtain on the thread about cleaning leather. Can't seem to add a link to it but its bobbing around in the front page of the Lounge at the moment. Ms Curtain seems to have lots of top tips on such matters so hope she spots this and is able to help.

I have? Have I? Oh good grief are we talking 'performance' targets for bedroom failure or perhaps you could make an appointment with an optician :) > Perhaps I should make some sweeping statements > about what you think, start putting words in your > mouth and see how you respond? Not that good huh? Wouldn't be the first time, would it? ;)
  19. I'm sure you are correct. As ever.
  20. I have rewarded bedroom failure by simply turning it into an office instead.
  21. I love the forum at times, brilliant tips on here for reading Dickens. Now I really do have great expectations :)
  22. Toilet(s)? Loo(s)? I thought there was only one there....
  23. El Pibe, I will hazard a guess that its just below the second 't' of twitter.....
  24. Townleygreen and Jah you have good taste in books, I'm def going to read the follow-up to Kite Runner :) Stopped readng irvine welsh after ecstasy for some reason but the food and sex one sounds like it would be an interesting read. We never got Dickens at school either and I vaguely remember trying to read The Pickwick Papers, maybe I chose the wrong one. I might give him another try now I'm a lot older.
  25. Thanks for that PGC, I am going to try that book out (tu) Has anyone read the Kite Runner by Khaled Hossaini (yes, yes I know it was also a film - I haven't seen that either) This book has been sitting around my house for ages and I finally got around to reading it. It begins in 1970s Afghanistan and is a fascinating insight into the people and culture although the story is more about universal themes of friendship/betrayal. I really enjoyed it although it was incredibly sad too.
