  1. Independence wasn't high on the list of reasons for voting for Alex Salmond and his Tartan Tories, its probably due to him saying he'd freeze council tax for the next 5 years!! Cameron must be loving the result though...
  2. Think of what? My mind is blank.
  3. Of course! How could I forget? I can only think they must have wiped my memory when I was abducted.

  6. Oh *Bob* and you thought it was bad when people simply quoted from the series on here ... Now all Seinfeld afficionados will be posting links to the "funniest" clips (eg soup episode or in my case, anything and everything to do with George) !

George Costanza (the character) makes me laugh the most. Also the mail man... Kramer can be irritating! What about Curb your enthusiasm *Bob*?

  12. I have been to Harlow and Church Langley quite a few times as I used to live in nearby (ish) Epping. I really liked living in Essex and found the local community lovely and friendly. I'm personally not a huge fan of Harlow itself although I'm sure like most places there are positives as well as negatives. The area known as Old Harlow seemed nicer to me. Church Langley is an extension of Harlow (eg lots of new housing developments, new roads, numerous roundabouts and the ubiquitous Tesco!) I think you'd need a car to get around if living there, esp with young children. Transport links are not bad - there are regular trains from Harlow into Liverpool st/Stansted and its very close to the M11 which can be handy. There's a bus station in the centre of Harlow (by one of the large shopping malls). Good taxi service from Harlow station too. There's beautiful surrounding countryside and green spaces (and lots and lots of roundabouts!). Lots of industrial estates and huge shops on the outskirts too. Good luck with wherever you choose. PS Oilworker - have you ever been to Harlow? I think you're talking about a different part of Essex but I hear what you're saying about the preferred choice of BBQ.
  13. Yes. Sorry about that. There's only so much you can carry in your Cath Kidston 'Spring fever' lined wicker basket. *tings bike bell back at Laddy*

Gosh, Frankito, how far do you have to travel by 'non-eco-friendly car' every time you want some 'decent food products'? How awful is that? If only someone would post details (ASAP) of imminent plans for an M&S in ED!! (Pssst....next time, remember Fortnum & Mason, its not quite as 'tired' as the M&S Waitrose theme on here)
  15. Hello! Is this the North Eastern Song Game thread?
  16. Eh? Malumbu, what's up? Scottish football grounds (you've driven past) subsection: Caley Thistle...that's it from me.
  17. Thank god for you ????!! Exactly my sentiments - imagine President Blair!! Ugh...perish the thought.
  18. What happens if you become hopelessly lost? Looking at the folded map/clipboard contraption will be no use if you've inadvertently taken a high speed toll road leading to a different page, will it? Honestly, if you're going to publish new top tips please, please, try to cover all eventualities. Thank you.

James, you looked at the picture 'again' before reaching that conclusion? I have to ask...was this different from the first time that you looked at it then? I'm incredulous too. Is it a case of people seeing what they want to see? From an outsider's point of view (ie I have no connection with this school), it appears to me that someone was worried about creationism being taught and anticipating hordes of angry parents (irrespective of their race). However, I can also see that there must be more to this than meets the eye which is why.... Its a great shame that it couldn't have been sorted out between the Head and the school governor(s) in the first instance.
  20. EDOliver - next time you pop out for a cheeky beer, go a bit further away from ED* to Bar Story in Peckham. It does Staropramen for ?3.50. (Also does interesting locally brewed beers too!) * say that everywhere you looked ran out of milk; and we clearly need a Waitrose etc :))
  21. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Best just to say you are popping out for a pint of > milk next time round. Not if its ?4.10 a pint though... PS I doubt that the CPT prices are too disimilar to anywhere else, I can remember Staropramen costing about ?3.90 in another ED pub over a year ago when I first moved here so it may have increased by now. I'd still rather go to the CPT :)-D
  22. Only 242 days, 15 hours, 58 mins and 22 secs left??? OMG!!! Thanks Nette, very useful for planning ahead. X *polishes (square) reindeer crockery set*
  23. Congratulations to karter and family!! :)) X
  24. Oh absolutely, same here PR but can fully understand someone wanting to find new friends around their own age to explore bars or clubs with (or whatever it is young people do these days) :) Now where did I put my slippers...
