A late night show on hedge trimming may get some interest.

Interesting points and in general, perhaps shops can/will only try to change consumer behaviour up to a point (and good on G&B for doing so where they can). I adore french wines but I also think there are some good english wines out there now but ... if other wonderful wines from far-flung places are available to purchase, its inevitable that people will want to try those too because they can. So it will take much more of a shift to remove/reduce consumer demand for products from afar that can have environmental impacts.

Hi keef you could also pop into BC Bikes on ED Rd and have a quick chat. If you explain to the staff what you're looking to use the bike for, budget etc, they are very helpful and there's no pressure to buy from there either (in my experience). They helped me to choose the right frame size when I had to replace my bike last year and were impartial in their advice when I took in a catalogue from a friend's bike shop in another area and asked what they thought of the models that I was considering to buy (even though they were different to the ones that they stock). Good luck and hope you find one to suit.

You could try poisoning the filthy, ill-mannered, despicable pig. Or hire an electronics expert (if you're not one already) and wire up his desk so that he receives an electric shock every time he dribbles or makes a sound. Ugh. I share your pain. Hope someone in HR can offer constructive help.

Er yeah good point everyone does get it, apart from that twit Tony Blair who set the ball rolling with his stupid 'target' of 50% to go to university. How were we meant to pay for that and crucially, why would we want to for people to study useless, rubbish subjects? What a load of cr@p. I'm all in favour of education for all, of course its important for society but this system was unworkable.

Sorry to Eddie but I doubt that the cemetery friends will be able to help with this as I suggested above :-$

That's true Jeremy, and Dickensman, I agree, I don't think that we have invested enough in tidal power technology (even by today's standards) in the UK. A lot of new tech in this field has either not been developed at scale or is still in the very early stages of commercial development. It currently competes with the oil industry for shipping needs alone, not easy. It's a fascinating area of alternative energy that I think will take off in other (non-European) countries before it does here.

hi Eddie, I have heard of a group called Friends of Nunhead Cemetery, perhaps they will be able to help you with any information? Good luck with this. k

SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What exactly consitutes a working class snob? someone who serves panna cotta for dessert instead of angel delight? decants a bottle of bulgarian red ? oh, you must know what is meant by this, seriously. Its someone who acts like a tw@t as soon as they come into a bit of money and proceed to look down on people they were previously in the same boat as (no shame there either). Not saying that they have to act all grateful and constantly be thankful for being 'working class done good' but there's definitely a type of person out there who can be more grating than your 'traditional' snob. No? Thankfully, they're in the minority in my experience. The most amazing, intelligent people I have ever met in my life have worked their way up from nothing. But that's not to say that there aren't fantastic people out there who were born into a very privileged background either. spot on, daizie.

So how is everyone on the forum today? :))

PS Tony's gone Mick. We don't need "skilful operators" of his sort in these straitened times. David = connotations of the ghastly new labour that has sickened so many of their traditional supporters. Ed = you have yet to see him prove himself in his new role but he will. Give him 100 days or whatever its supposed to take. Anyway, I'd like to think in politics we are moving away from the focus on the leaders of either party.
