I noticed this morning that the 'girls' and 'boys' entrance lintels from the original school have been placed as benches by the pond in Peckham Rye. A shame that the entrances weren't preserved for the new school, but quite a charming use of a bit of local history. Let's hope the vandals don't get them. Edited after a walk on the far side of the Rye - it's not those gates, they are still in place. A mystery now, where did the 'benches' come from?

Don't want to detract from this thread, but the point of 'Baby on board' signs is that in case of an accident, rescuers know to search for a baby. That's why they should be temporary signs and removed when the baby is not in the car.
