  1. There's already a thread for that Zephyr: filmed in ED, but interesting nonetheless.
  2. I can see for miles and miles - The Who
  3. Perhaps your friend has visions too Franglasia, or has been at the meths again?
  4. Mr Moonlight - The Beatles
  5. Haven't been for about 13 years. That was a fab day out - met a couple of Millwall players on the train whom we'd seen score the night before. Think I was more excited by them than the gees gees who I always feel sorry for on that uphill finish. Not sure my liver could hack Cheltenham any more.
  6. Don't you know the word is puddings?
  7. Outside Melbourne Gr. I've seen Shirley Crabtree live - great stuff.
  8. With fox hounds? View Holla!
  9. Goodbye to love - The Carpenters
  10. Never go to the Pyrotechnicists on St Patrick's night unless you are fully fledged Irish - the reception is not very good. However, should you be wearing a dog collar, post-funeral, you will be made very welcome despite being English. The Man of Kent is good for Irish Football matches and Holleran's (not sure if it's still there) used to be good for impromptu bloomer-showing dancing. Never been to Golden Anchor.
  11. I go every now and then to one of the PEs on the Southbank and used to go to Kettners quite often. For some reason, it never occurs to me to go to Dulwich. One on the doorstep would be alright.
  12. P Express would be ok, specially if it continued with live jazz tradition. Never heard of the other two. Unfortunately you are probably right, a chain would bring in more footfall than a quirky independent; probably because one isn't intimidated by chains - they are familiar.
  13. M. Dupont rend sa tombe.
  14. Maurice Baring (one of me fave's) wrote a novel called something like "The Lady of Dulwich". Andy McNab who grew up in ED and naturally mentions it in his autobiography, often slips the location into his novels and his band-waggoning comrade Chris Ryan sets his teenage hero in Camberwell. [edit: I was confused m'lud. "Boy Soldier" by McNab has the hero in Camberwell. It's a ripping yarn in the Buchan mould.] I presume ???? is referring to the sainted Muriel Spark. Peckham is also mentioned in "Last Orders".
  15. What's not to like about pink?
  16. To the Tower with you both.
  17. How lovely - very Dr Who. Had my morning constitutional in Nunhead Cemetery at 10 this morning, far more congenial, though still had to scrape the ice from my car.
  18. By the way Libra, if you tell Peter about the wine, he will probably discount it for you. I refused to buy cigarettes in there when he hoiked them up arbitrarily so we came to a deal.
  19. Libra, you really are an ********. First, there are no turntables or kilns in the pottery cafe - it is merely a place to paint readymade pieces, they are sent away for firing. Secondly, the nature of addiction is that one can't do without something, so yes, cigarettes are important. Your condescension is quite something to behold: just because I mismanage my money (something ???? has already chastised me for!), why do you assume I am on benefits? I have many good qualities but frugality and abstension are not among them. However, if we are casting stones, why don't you cultivate the virtue of patience in a queue? You could use the time to remind yourself how perfect you are. Edited to appease the lovely Annaj
  20. Lucky 7s is when you take 7 records to spin at The Gowlett pub. Here's the link for Hoopers: Hoopers Quiz
  21. The intergalactic laxative - Donovan
  22. Absolutely loved Life on Mars. Am enjoying AtoA but not as much - I used to wear some of those hideous fashions. Anyone else think she is a dead ringer for Keira Knightley?
