  1. Nationality is relevant if it's a cultural thing. For example, Spain tends towards late night habits and their children go to bed later than here.
  2. I think it was a brothel at one _oint Sue. S_ilt coffee on my keyboard the other day - can't have a _ee now
  3. I'm back - mysteriously, I seem to have purchased a large packet of Jaffa Cakes.
  4. No, but it's bloody annoying. I need to pop to Tesco Express. If I'm not back soon, I have been taken hostage by whoever* is being looked for by the helicopter. In the event of my demise, I bequeath my account to seanmacgabhann. *whomever??
  5. Albrighton Centre Food Bank will be giving Christmas presents to their customers. New children's books would be very welcome.
  6. I'm reading "The Princess Bride" at the moment, quite amusing but the foreword is dire. This bit made me smile, though probably for the wrong reasons: "Why do you wear a mask and hood?" Fezzik asked. "I think everybody will in the near future" was the man in black's reply. "They're terribly comfortable."
  7. This organisation might be worth a look at: https://www.frazzledcafe.org/
  8. Flock & Herd are offering free chipolatas for school children. Check their Facebook, etc, for details.
  9. I think you could rock a tonsure Bob.
  10. Mentioned in recent Guardian article: https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2020/oct/12/weird-wacky-worlds-greatest-unsung-museums-hilton-als-mary-beard-russell-tovey Nice to see some publicity for a charming, if not totally bonkers, man.
  11. ... you're adorable?
  12. In defence of James, he has been doing some behind the scenes chasing for me which has resulted in a very satisfactory outcome.
  13. So I can join the shooting party and taste the 10 year old sloe gin!
  14. *starts to strip and oil gun*
  15. Dawson Heights or Belair Park.
  16. I have the barrels and facemasks (with covid-safe straw holes) in already, JohnL.
  17. Nothing to do with the debate, but may I just say, ArtfulDogger, how wonderful to see that you slipped in "Come on, Eileen". Top marks!
  18. Darling Alan, you are welcome to camp in my back garden. I can do a Welsh accent for a few sentences, but then it veers into an Indian one. Perhaps I could serve you my famous coronation bara brith?
  19. I do have a tunnel from my coal cellar to the EDT. I think that trumps anything Bob may boast about.
  20. I received a letter today for a hospital appointment yesterday. Fortunately, I had arranged it by telephone.
  21. Any news? This might fare better in the Lounge or ED Section.
  22. Here is the Daily Mail article, quite useful for everyday COVID use: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-8682297/How-virus-proof-mask-laboratory-conditions-professor-answers-burning-question.html If you want to scare yourself silly then here is an article from (a relatively sane) US prepper site which covers heavyweight respirators, etc. Their research seems pretty good: https://theprepared.com/gear/reviews/best-gas-mask-respirator-survival/
  23. Anybody else notice Flock & Herd had a mention in dispatches in the Guardian's OBO?
  24. @ abingdon: not solely (see what I did there) a fish restaurant, but Peckham Bazaar in Nunhead usually has good fish/seafood choices on their menu.
