  1. Calm down. Just think of it as a reasonable environmental tax on methane.
  2. I pretty much agree with Bonaome. It would be great if the Co-op could raise its game.
  3. I think it's a wonderful idea. I've been to a private party at Shortwave, it worked very well. It was a classic film that one could wander in and out of at will or stay and chat at the front bar. I'd favour Friday/Saturday nights.
  4. I never expected anything else.
  5. thanks for that Mick Mac. I watched a programme about it the other day, absolutely harrowing. The desparate grief of a mother who packed her young son off that day, still resonates. In other news: bollocks. Celtic are two up.
  6. The upside is Shepherd Neame. PS - if you look without the blinkers on, you will find architecturally superior houses in Peckham.
  7. Oh James, a branch of Fortnum's would be wonderful.
  8. That's officially the bank holiday on Monday, so no.
  9. Read the Telegraph version. Pietersen comes across as a cocky tit while Moores seems rather gracious. Telegraph
  10. Alas that story is running in several papers too. Dear old Gobby Pietersen - how we love him.
  11. A farmer goes out to milk the cows one winter morning and finds them all frozen, stiff as boards. He begins to tear his hair out then notices an old lady on the edge of the field. She goes up to each cow in turn, and puts her arms round it. One by one, the cows begin to graze. "Who are you? An angel?", he asks. "No", she says, "Thora Hird".
  12. I'm sorry Quids, but if you're in the rice cooker present giving group, this won't cut the mustard.
  13. Stop being a tit, Hill Dweller. Your post was lewd and totally inappropriate in the general section. If you don't like the terms of the forum and the moderation, then bugger off.
  14. ENGLAND WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 157 RUNS. I shall be setting up my booth on Goose Green. Cross my palm with silver ...
  15. I say! Thought Haddin was going to eke that out a bit longer - well played him. Gosh! I'm all a-flustered - in a very good way of course. Shan't sleep for ages now. It needs to be said in black and white: ENGLAND RETAIN THE ASHES!!!!
  16. Tell daughter to cook/prepare her own food. My daughter's vegetarian phase lasted less than a fortnight under those conditions.
  17. Anyone else excited? Or are we becoming rather blase about winning the Ashes now?
  18. I think she was subtley claiming the divine right of kings!
  19. Haven't been on petrol site for ages, so just checked. When I said Tesco, I meant Esso! Here's the breakdown (Morrisons have moved into second place): Esso Forest Hill Express 119.9p updated 22-12-2010 Morrisons Peckham 120.9p 23-12-2010 Murco E.Dulwich 122p 23-12-2010 BP Peckham Connect 122.9p 23-12-2010 Texaco Grove Vale 123.9p 23-12-2010
  20. If Australia pull off a draw after all this, I shall be as nauseous as a Psittacus Erithacus.
  21. Well, that was very satisfying. Check out the NZ/Pakistan 20/20 for some amazing bowling.
  22. Am enjoying lightly toasted bread, gently crushed cold brussels and brown sauce while listening to Australia being trounced. Honestly, does life get any better?
  23. Stay sober - it's worth it just to keep reading 98 all out. I keep waiting for it all to go wrong - pinch me someone.
