  1. It's lack of Englishmen in the commentary box. Besides, one dayers don't count.

  3. If you don't like the moderator's rules, start your own forum. And leave Narnia alone, he's a darling.
  4. Cricket is serious.
  5. Might as well get Mick McCarthy.
  6. Call me ungrateful, but, I still have a dirty great cooker in the middle of my kitchen and am no further forward. Is there a combined engineer person I can call? If not, can anyone recommend a gas fitter since I will have to deal with that first.
  7. Despite the snow yesterday, I think Spring is amost here. In PR Park the snowdrops are up and the drakes are fighting.
  8. Fine Twirly, by St Agnes' Fountain at dawn. To stay on topic: aren't Lollipop men fabulous? I do love a chap in uniform.
  9. Barry's doesn't stock my brand of cigarettes so it's a 'no' from me. Not that it matters, it's once in a blue moon I'm up that way - just happened to go in on Tuesday.
  10. What I think is that it's looking like Narnia's mate or DJKQ is my best option at the mo.
  11. I have a gas cooker currently installed, but the electrics were put in place when the kitchen was refurbished. Take one pepper pot, one salt cellar and a bottle of HP Sauce ....
  12. I know about the offside rule actually. What I don't know is how to get a dual fuel cooker installed. Do I have to get a separate electrician and gas fitter or is there a way of saving money by having one person fit both? If so, can anybody recommend someone please?
  13. "The Scot's [Dalgliesh] daughter Kelly Cates, a former presenter on Sky Sports News, joked on her Twitter account: "Phew, am exhausted. Just read about something called 'the offside rule'. Too much for my tiny brain. Must be damaged from nail polish fumes." That made me laugh! All a bit ridiculous in my opinion - all jokes are stereotypes, I think it's gone way over the top.
  14. A little bit of Mr Fry will do nicely - thanks!
  15. I'm not affected by it either, but totally agree with my inamorata Twirly.
  16. Any tv watching recommendations for tonight, Admin?
  17. Can I buy tablet locally does anyone know? Need it for a Burns Night gift.
  18. We had chicken tonight. I can post the wishbone to you if you'd like. Genuine East Dulwich wishbone. 15 guineas should cover the postage.
  19. In the words of Madame Arcati: "...experience has taught me to be very wary of concoctions."
  20. Best thing for wooden chopping boards is to wash in hot, soapy water and let dry in strong sunlight. Oil occasionally (olive oil). Since there won't be any strong sunlight for a few months, I'd forget about it and daydream of male, Brazilian cleaners and baby oil instead.
  21. How appropriate to see The Queen in Vassal Road!
  22. I haven't given up at all and loving it. Well done for giving a boost to The Goose is Out!
  23. Dully, I think you are excused housework for the rest of your life.
  24. Just to lower the tone, 'dags' are the bits of sheep that are in the direct line of fire at the wrong end and get covered in shit.
  25. Ditto the Ship Inn at Conyer. Many misspent evenings there now it's a bleeding gastro pub.
