  1. Bugger off Declan. Unless your name is Joyce or Morgan, you know nothing of the finer points of cricket. And Strauss, Prior, Trott and KP all obviously hail from Devon (or somewhere with dodgy accents).
  2. Hi this is PGC's daugher. I currently attend gch VI form and have been there since year 7. The sixth form is not what I expected as throughout school years it was rather strict, but the 6th form has quite a laid back aproach to things. However, this is not taken for grantd as the staff can be strict towards us if necessary!! We have enough freedom to do as we like to a certain extent and hav some free periods in which to do independent studying. The teaching is of a very high standard and although we are no longer 'spoon fed' like GCSE years, the teachers give us more than enough information and are always happy to help if difficulties arise. When the external students came in this year they were welcomed very well by all of us who were staying on to study and I for one have certainly made lots of new friends who of didn't attend the school previously. I hope your daughter applies to the school as it is certainly a good one! Feel free to ask me any questions that you might have! Hope this was helpful! Beatrice
  3. I think Billy Wright may have been the first superstar (and he wore a bra).
  4. How manly and strong you are today, Michael. Puuuuuuuuuuuuurr
  5. yipes. I need a cigarette after all that.
  6. Oh, this is getting exciting. I hope England take the extra half hour and get them all out this morning(evening).
  7. It's already covered in the Highway Code, Tarot. Enforcing it is another thing. James, can you please remind me why a pedestrian crossing across E.Dulwich Grove was not viable? I know it's been asked before. Just that I was almost knocked down this evening, despite it being my right of way.
  8. The whole world doesn't revolve around Leeds, David. The centre of the universe is in fact at Zampa Road. As player/manager Wise was pretty good for Millwall.
  9. sounds a damn sight more exciting than Eng v Aus
  10. Dennis Wise ok manager in my book.
  11. Can't say I'm in favour of it at all. One day a week off from the frenzy is rather nice.
  12. Calm down. Just think of it as a reasonable environmental tax on methane.
  13. I pretty much agree with Bonaome. It would be great if the Co-op could raise its game.
  14. I think it's a wonderful idea. I've been to a private party at Shortwave, it worked very well. It was a classic film that one could wander in and out of at will or stay and chat at the front bar. I'd favour Friday/Saturday nights.
  15. I never expected anything else.
  16. thanks for that Mick Mac. I watched a programme about it the other day, absolutely harrowing. The desparate grief of a mother who packed her young son off that day, still resonates. In other news: bollocks. Celtic are two up.
  17. The upside is Shepherd Neame. PS - if you look without the blinkers on, you will find architecturally superior houses in Peckham.
  18. Oh James, a branch of Fortnum's would be wonderful.
  19. That's officially the bank holiday on Monday, so no.
  20. Read the Telegraph version. Pietersen comes across as a cocky tit while Moores seems rather gracious. Telegraph
  21. Alas that story is running in several papers too. Dear old Gobby Pietersen - how we love him.
  22. A farmer goes out to milk the cows one winter morning and finds them all frozen, stiff as boards. He begins to tear his hair out then notices an old lady on the edge of the field. She goes up to each cow in turn, and puts her arms round it. One by one, the cows begin to graze. "Who are you? An angel?", he asks. "No", she says, "Thora Hird".
