  1. Surely a job for Wondergirl...
  2. one came by tonight, at 10pm!
  3. Why don't they spend the money on a big street party? Hurrah!
  4. Back to the EDT then. I thought maybe the CPT might have it on.
  5. It can. I actually didn't mind the grub at El Passo.
  6. "Can't help lamenting the dodgy food" How could you tell? (I know, I know, Mexican food can be great. In Mexico, mostly)
  7. I'm with CWALD, TetraPaks are now the biggest items I put in my normal bin, which irritates me.
  8. Huguenot, your stats are from the US, so they don't really count. Nor does the 'think of the children line'. Your kids shouldn't be playing on a bus route anyway. But those 'tabletop' humps Kilmore is referring too aren't so bad on the back, it's the cushions and sleeping policemen that cause trouble: they delay ambulances, dismount cyclists and motorbikers; render cars unroadworthy and cause motorists to swerve in order to straddle the darn things.
  9. I ride a motorbike and pushbike to work; the iPod zombies are a menace. I saw a bus clip one of them the other day in Victoria who was completely oblivious to anything around him. In New York, it's such a problem, it's a fineable offence akin to jaywalking: http://www.iphonesavior.com/images/2008/01/08/ipod_road_safety.jpg And the people who enter a crossing when the green man is flashing are a pain, which means stop unless you are already on the road (although I'd say this is a design flaw; everywhere else in the world it flashes red). I'd bring in those 'countdown' crossings which count down in seconds until the light turns green. You know where you stand then.
  10. And allow road users to turn left at red lights if clear.
  11. If you encourage more of us to ride bikes, then, exponentially, you're going to have more casualties. Who writes this stuff?
  12. An awful story which brings tears to my eyes every time I read about it.
  13. I have to say, though, the disruption on LL hasn't been as bad as it could've been.
  14. Strong egg. Was it hard boiled?
  15. One call so far: polite kids in great outfits with cheery parents chaperoning them. Gave 'em a couple of handfuls of penny mixes. Sweet.
  16. The ideal situation would be to renovate the property and convert it into apartments, but I suspect that wouldn't be commercially viable. Architects and developers would rather work with a blank canvas than negotiate around preservation orders. Pity.
  17. Health & safety innit
  18. I blame Geri halliwell
  19. Sounds like a Viz cartoon
  20. Tell the police immediately. That's attempted arson.
