Not 'causes' then, 'exacerbates' impatient driving
"Southwark Living Streets put a proposal to the Community Councils re. the Adys Road/Crystal Palace Road junction to increase the time allowed for crossing - it's currently 9 seconds - and encourage diagonal crossing. The proposals seem to have got stuck between the 3 Community Councils that join here." It's waiting at crossings where the green man is on for an age and no-one is crossing that arguably causes impatient driving don't you think?
Wouldn't stop it, as the customers' cars would probably have ED permits anyway. And at 3am (if that's correct), permits don't apply. You'll just be paying some money to the council for no reason. You'd do better to ask the council to have a word.
Pretty good when we've been there. The lotus leaf rice is great. Not as good as Lombok, of course, but easily as good as meals we've had at Chopsticks.
A pelican crossing on the co-op/clinic side of Forest Hill Road would've been fine, with box junction markings across the crossroads to allow vehicles to turn without hindrance. Anyway, weren't these lights meant to be temporary?
It's graffiti cover-up. You can see some still visible to the right of the shot. Someone was told to 'go out and cover up any graffiti you see' and they duly obliged.
Good article. Good arguments. If we've nothing to hide, then install cameras in our bathrooms; after all, we're not doing anything wrong. We're the most watched country on earth, yet we're Europe's high crime country There are 14m+ cameras trained on us. Who's watching? Where is this data being stored? Who has access to it? Who owns it? What is it being used for?
They missed out the one it's really in place for: 'parking contraventions'. CCTV is useless against anything else. Just ask the victims of 7/7, for example.
Two weeks, last time I tried, so no long holidays when your tax is up, or you'll find your car removed and crushed, or auctioned off at a knock-down price, as my mate once experienced.
