  1. Scary stuff. Maybe they should try the offices of Southwark parking next: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7632597.stm
  2. It's graffiti cover-up. You can see some still visible to the right of the shot. Someone was told to 'go out and cover up any graffiti you see' and they duly obliged.
  3. It's electronic curtain-twitching.
  4. What are the rules regarding these infernal devices? Could I, say, pop one on the front of my house and film the street? I bet they're not regulated.
  5. Six ice 'creams' in iceland - 99p
  6. Didn't stop the crime, though, did it?
  7. Even the police doubt its use as tool against crime: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/may/06/ukcrime1
  8. Good article. Good arguments. If we've nothing to hide, then install cameras in our bathrooms; after all, we're not doing anything wrong. Interesting Google ad next to the pice though: http://www.e-stealth.com/ULTIMATE-BLUETOOTH-MOBILE-PHONE-SPY-SOFTWARE-NEW-EDITION-2008_p_1-8.html?GA&gclid=CM2p8fn7zpUCFRSO1QodlkSqig
  9. Spray graffiti on the poster. See if you get arrested.

  11. We're the most watched country on earth, yet we're Europe's high crime country There are 14m+ cameras trained on us. Who's watching? Where is this data being stored? Who has access to it? Who owns it? What is it being used for?
  12. They missed out the one it's really in place for: 'parking contraventions'. CCTV is useless against anything else. Just ask the victims of 7/7, for example.
  13. Stay at home and have a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig wank.
  14. Two weeks, last time I tried, so no long holidays when your tax is up, or you'll find your car removed and crushed, or auctioned off at a knock-down price, as my mate once experienced.
  15. Asked a builder there the other day. He said 'the same as it was before'. So that clears that up.
  16. 'Failing to Display a Tax Disc' is seldom used thesedays because a quick check with the DVLA will usually settle things, especially with ANPR technology. Ask any biker - we can go for weeks forgetting to dismantle the holder and pop a new disc in. All I've ever had is a DVLA sticker saying 'We will be checking to see if you have a valid vehicle licence and fining you in the post if you don't' placed on the saddle. This looks like a pair of PCSOs killing some time at the end of their shift. If only they were as vigilant when it comes to litter and graffiti...
  17. Have you a bank statement with a transaction to DVLA for payments?

They were Taste the Difference victuals
  19. Sainsbury's are doing victuals two-for-one at the mo...
  20. Good idea. Listing the last places and roughly the time you last used the card, the locations of fraudulent transactions and the amount taken.
  21. Victorian gas main replacement, by all accounts. Bloody Victorians, what have they ever done for us?
  22. I've noticed that Somerfield has taken steps to remedy the situation by er, cable-tying their Chip & Pin terminals to the counters.
  23. As opposed to the tired, cobwebbed, empty, desperately over-attentive previous surroundings? I'll take my chances.
