  1. I'm not disputing anything you're saying there Sue. Hence ear plugs for the WIN! It is the most economic and instant solution. Alternatively you could try Southwark noise police ;-)
  2. Little wonder the country is in the state is is when we have to resort to the above and campaigns and bla bla bla etc.. All that's really needed to save the ?860million a year health costs are these: http://comfyearplugs.com/images/buy_soft_white_silicone_earplugs.jpg
  3. Jeez, we live in a global capital city... if you can't handle aircraft noise move to Orkney or somewhere else suitably quiet.
  4. I vote we register pedestrians. http://img.slaveregister.com/pictures/jpgs/146E2.600.jpg
  5. Time for a new thread, hehehehe What recourse is there against pedestrians who disregard the highway code?
  6. True. But to say "surely we're the only major European city not to have them." is just wrong.
  7. "Proper bike lanes that are clearly marked and separately rom motorised traffic would also help; surely we're the only major European city not to have them." ______________________________________________________ ?? they're not everywhere, but we do have them and they are increasing: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4073/4863372766_6ffc7739a0.jpg

You need to read the post more carefully. The point being made here is how much attention pedestrians pay to other traffic WHEN CROSSING A ROAD ___________________________________________________ Get on the road where you belong. > That's it, no more needs to be said. Jeeeez ___________________________________________________ ^ +1 You'll find no arguments from me on this point
  9. ^Cyclist could also have been reporting a bad driver *as wild a guess as yours*
  10. From my experience, the thief may have been spooked by your questions and just told you it was sold to get you their backs. My advice would be to still keep an eye out for it on Scumtree, it may pop up again in a few days.
  11. ^ Zeban has a point though. Little wonder the parents blame their 'stupid kids' lol
  12. 3 for the win. Happy to help again if anyone would like. PM me.
  13. ^lol. I'm still waiting for the thief to post in reply to this thread, I can't believe they'd be so rude as to ignore this? Those Stoopid kidz need an apology i tell you!
  14. @ LOZ - lol, get over yourself. I am saying it is very hard for a cyclist to get up to and over 30mph period. What's your average speed then smarty pants?
  15. "Only if he could keep that speed up for week or two" Not really. So yes I am saying the 'average cyclist' will rarely get to 30mph let alone above it, fact!!
  16. Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- How do you know he wasn't going 30mph? Or faster? _____________________________________________ haha, they should be in the tour de france if that were the case
  17. ^ "My kids stupidly left their scooters outside" Don't blame you 6yr old kids....please.
  18. ^ i only suggest taking proof in case the police do get involved. When taking the bike back, do not mention it was yours. Just ask for a test ride and pedal as fast as you can. Better still take a mate with you. Get them to wait on the other side of the road and to call the police as soon as you bike appears. You keep the thief chatting until the police arrive, do not arouse the thieves suspicions. Show the police proof of ownership, go home proudly on beloved bike :-] it goes without saying, but do be careful if you do this. Best of luck

Better to arrange to meet as a 'buyer' and steel your bike back. Do not wait for the police to try to catch they are too slow. I have retrieved several bikes this way. You must however, carry details of the frame number, receipt etc. Please don't all go calling the thief, they will simply bin that phone. As regards Gumtree and bike, one should assume the bike to be stolen if the price is too good to be true. If the seller cannot provide details of purchase etc then walk away..
