My thoughts are with you all X x _____________________________________________ I am that bored that i have decided to at last read this thread. And for all the abuse the post above received it is still the most sane?!! Really, maybe Sainsbury should prepare a creche for you all and retrieve your children when you are done. Or as suggested, if you don't like it you could simply use Ocado. Some of the times, all the spaces are unavailable ... legitimately. Horror!?!? HTFU
  2. So, were you a cycle courier or did you wait at traffic light all day for no money?
  3. ^Wire it up to the mains, that should do the job.
  4. Yup :) A Couriers very meager wage is based on the amount of parcels delivered, you don't delivery many parcels waiting at lights all day... Just saying.

Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm in no way an expert, but many of the posters > on the other forums don't seem to rate hardwax, > can't remember why without lots more googling :) ____________________________________________________ It is due in part to the fact that a hardwax is a 'surface' treatment. Whereas an oil will impregnate the timber thus providing deeper protection that of course is less likely to wear away as a result of abrasive cleaning etc. (It is also easier to apply to raw timber as it's a liquid) Oil would normally require 3 coats initially, then as already mentions an annual coat.

I should stress i only take my daughter on back roads where there is pretty much no traffic. HH Youth Cycling club is a fantastic resource, she loves it!
  9. I have been taking my eldest daughter out on the road since last summer. She was 5, now 6yrs. I'll be the first to admit that i thought that was a bit too young. But, she was very keen and like you mention above, I would sit behind and into the road to shield her as best i could whilst also sticking to quiet roads only. I would never take her onto busy roads even now. (ie Plough end of LL for eg) Anyhow, she somehow realizes the responsibility and behaves remarkably well. I have been very impressed.
  10. 7.30 this evening and still lots of people there, although i left bang on so don't know how much later they would have been open for.

  12. ^ I see from that article that the he "parks his van on an industrial estate at night." Why would he do that i wonder, when he's working in a nice residential area?

If you are too scared to use your cycle on the road you should walk with it on the pavement. Or better still, get cycle training! You give me and many more cyclist a very bad reputation!!! (unless of course you're 11years old, in which case carry on)
  14. Like your style Senor. Sadly as much as i also wish for this thread to continue. I have to concede that it is indeed true. TCVM is real and did attempt to move the van. This was noted and appreciated :-) @ TCVM - Aside from curry and cake, have any of your liberal supporters offered you their street to park in yet?

Emerson Crane Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > pavements are for pedestrians not arrogant > cyclists, and if as a pedestrian I choose to use > my mobile phone, thats up to me. ___________________________________________________ Sorry, you might have miss understood me when i mentioned mobile phones. I was saying pedestrians are a danger when they step out into the road on their mobile phones as they are generally not paying much attention to the surrounding traffic. You are of course correct re the pavement.
  16. @ *Bob* I for one am deeply dismayed at your assumption that Campervan man is actually the person in question and not some cheap shot alias? just saying ;-) I also hope that the next van rocks on up outside your house, as they will clearly have a warm welcoming from your kind & understanding self.
  17. True. Pedestrians can be worse than all others. You can blame phone & i-pods for this... walking straight out into the road not paying attention. So again, all equally as bad as each other imo/.
  18. You get a lot of inconsiderate/ unexperienced cyclists out on the roads this time of year with the weather improving. I am also a cyclist and they drive me nuts too as their behaviour tarnishes all other cyclists :( Truth is as always there are dozy pedestrians, bad drives and of course bad cyclists. They all 'get-away' with things far too often imo.

  20. ^ Missus, where have you been all day, best post so far! 'Pissing on lentils' made me laugh out very loud :-]
