MP I think you are joshing - 'Wagner was brilliant' lol. There is vocal talent on the show....and some of those acts are going to do very well even if they don't win the X Factor. Sure mostly they won't achieve international superstar status (that requires something really special) but then how many musicians/ bands with successful careers do anyway. Isn't it enough just to have some level of success? Doesn't mean everyone is crap. Totally agree about Cowell though. He's not a good manager. He's made Leona Lewis completely boring (made her a lot of money yes...but dull with it). JLS on the other hand have been the monster success they have because Cowell doesn't manage them. They are signed to his companay but a different team take care of them.

I disagree. Cher will do well in the urban youth hip hop niche.....like N-Dubz and those acts. The boy band will have their time and depending on how they go it will either be a couple of years or ten (the right management and songs will determine that). Longevity, you are right best lies with Rebecca, Matt and Treyc. I think the standard is really high.

There are not oodles of opportunities for emerging talent. Programme making is a business, a business that even the BBC have to engage in to keep up with rival broadcasters. Known formats and celebrities guarantee ratings as opposed to taking risks. It's a business I know very well.

It's cat country on my side of the park...more cats than foxes. It's three cats in 20 years though. I found two that had been run over at different times, and one that I think had just died from old age. Cats will sometimes go and find somewhere secluded to die. On all occasions I took the bodies to the nearest vet and in two cases the cats were chipped. The owners, although upset, were grateful they had the opportunity to bury/ cremate their pets, instead of them ending up in a council incinerator somewhere. I had one of my own cats die form a heart attack suddenly in the middle of the night once as well. By the time I got to the emrgency vet, she had died. That vet would normally have charged ?125 for the emergency out of hours service, but she didn't charge anything either. Most vets, in that situation, are pretty decent.

Royal Mail need to put a stop to this practice. It is NOT what senders are paying for. Recorded delivery is just that DELIVERY AT THE RECORDED ADDRESS. You pay extra for that service. It's a scam and every time it has happened to me I've helped the sender to claim a refund of postage from RM. They always pay up because they know it goes on.

I have taken dead cats to vets before.....and have never been charged. Most vets are ethical in those matters.

There are different rules for different migrants. One of the most common myths perpetuated by people is that illegal immigrants get help wih social housing and benefits. They don't. And even those (non EU and Commonwealth migrants) that come here and apply for immigration status by the legal channels (after they arrive) don't get help until they have a stamped immigration visa (which then allows them to work) - and even then that is limited help. Anyway that is completely off topic.

As non EU or Commonwealth migrants they would not have the same access to help with housing without valid immigration papers. They wouldn't have access to benefits either. So there is a good chance that if they are legally here, they are without any kind of income, or working in the black market. And they have nothing to lose. They know that the Police can do nothing (probably advised by other migrants who already know the system) until possession orders are in effect.

Technically that's what they have done...stolen someone's property. Mind you, it used to be far harder to get squatters out. Used to take years in some cases. I'm guessing this lot know exactly what they are doing, and will go once the formal possession orders are in place, to no doubt put someone else through the same miserable process.

Alcohol of course. I've drunk plenty of Red Bull and tea in the meantime though.
