  1. I am surprised given another long-running thread that this area is not already known as the Southwark Meadows or some such emotive title.
  2. Great news. Delighted for you. Please consider having him microchipped if he isn't already.
  3. Look further afield too. Lost cats can wander much longer distances than one might think.
  4. If you can get it to a vet you would be able to check if it has a microchip.
  5. I have now stopped going into shops which display a poster or petition about this.
  6. Forgot to mention John Barnet shoe shop and Bells plumbers' merchants for helpful advice. Also Shaun's DIY.
  7. Greetings card shop, wonderful choice, lovely people. Day Lewis pharmacy, Melbourne Grove - extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Farmers who sell everything you have ever needed.
  8. Apart from any other consideration, encouraging older people who might be less able to walk or cycle to use public transport rather than a car has surely got to be a good thing. Public transport should be cheaper and more attractive to everyone, I feel.
  9. Buy a big Christmas cake that looks tasty and just change the decorations on the top.
  10. In case you have not seen this in the media someone is killing and mutilating cats. This is happening not that far from East Dulwich. All of the cats - found in Addiscombe, South Norwood, Coulsdon and West Norwood between September and December have been killed in a distinctive way, apparently, with some having their tails and/or heads removed.
  11. If anyone can catch this cat perhaps they might be able to take it to a vet to check if it has a microchip.
  12. I also knew this. Perhaps florists could post notices in their shops so people don't buy lilies if they have cats or if they are sending flowers to people with cats.
  13. Glad to read he is home.
  14. Question air used to have a branch in Dulwich Village just near the pub.
  15. Have you been to the Sainte chappelle? Breathtakingly beautiful stained glass.
  16. We live just outside East Dulwich ward. Our cellar flooded in 2012 as did at least one neighbour's cellar. We have lived in the same house since early 1987 and had never had any water in the cellar before this. We involved Thames Water who said it was fresh water not sewage and that a stream might have been diverted when someone further upstream did some building work. Having seen a pump on television used in a similar situation we got one fitted. This seems completely to have solved the problem.
  17. You can self refer to the podiatrists at the clinic on the corner of Lordship Lane and Townley Road.
  18. I have often seen discarded piles of clothing in various streets and I assume this is what has happened. People also raid the bags left outside charity shops when the shop is closed and fish stuff out of clothing banks too.
  19. Boden must send you a replacement parcel at their expense I think.
  20. Lewisham, which charges for collections of large items of refuse, has always appeared to have more old televisions, stained mattresses and broken sofas littering its back streets and open spaces than Southwark, which collected large items without charge.
  21. Have put a link on Facebook
  22. Coming back to Dulwich from Lewisham by bus is actually easier and quicker than going from Dulwich to Lewisham as you can take whichever bus comes first. You can catch the 185 bus, the 484 or the P4 (changing buses opposite the Horniman Museum in this case if necessary) or the 122, changing buses at Forest Hill station.
  23. I would support the street sweeping machine. Great idea.
