  1. It's a two horse race. I'm just happy to have moved up the table and overtaken the 'Hoops'!

    Have you tried fisking?
  3. Sh*t Hal......you were asked to keep that quiet. Watch your back.
  4. Being interviewed by a HR person who is half your age and less than half of your experience, reading pre prepared questions and busily writing notes.

  8. Just think...........all smokers were once non smokers. Can all non smokers make a similar but opposite claim? Put that in your pipe..........and tell me what you conclude!

Can I vote for Jim Hacker? Where is he?
  11. Well at the very least getting rid of untaxed vehicles will make more parking space for those who do pay.
  12. Why was he pointing at Berlin on the map?

  15. I remember going to the Lane as a neutral in the mid eighties I think for an end of season top of the table clash v Everton, who won 2-1. Am I right in remembering when I saw them lose 0-1 to Watford I was in the upper tier of a stand that had standing room only? I felt sorry for the Watford family type fans who had to listen to the chants near the end of the game that they were 'going to get their heads kicked in'. Once saw them beat QPR 5-0 in a VIP's season ticket seat. David Puttnam. My friend was his driver. Only time I was a victim of football violence was on the tube on the way there to see ManU. I got kicked my a ManU fan! I liked the Lane apart from it being too far from the tube and a bit scary outside the ground in those days.
  16. Thanks for the badge katgod. Obviously I see how my posts may have come across this way though it wasn't my intention. Far from sulking though I think I will now invest in a caped outfit, learn to fly and hopefully rescue loads of little one's from crossing the road dangerously!
  17. I'm quoting myself here. Dipping my toes into the family section I wasn't sure how my OP would be received. Given the lack of response to it, apart from one or two,I felt that I was as Sanne Panne said, 'a spy' who was left in the cold. And yes Molly, I enjoyed my little dig. PS Trust you won't mind if I come back in a few years to add my words of 'wisdom' on teenagers, which no doubt will be a big topic of conversation then!
  18. I mentioned that it may have been the mother of the children if you read the post correctly. I didn't ask Gubodge to post a comment. The additional comments almost read like I've commited some sort of offence myself. Strange that the main reaction to my original post was my surprise at the lack of comment on it. Thanks for the positive responses I received here and by PM. As for the rest of you well I don't know about the latest ferrari prams or the 7 day nappy but I'm sure it's interesting. However I'm not qualified to speak on such current matters.

I guess I would have expected comments regarding childminders/au pairs and/or if I should just mind my own business. I guess you don't have an employee to look after your kid(s). When you write that 'we don't see' who exactly are you speaking on behalf of?
  20. I saw Barca demolish Madrid last night. Apart from Ronaldo, Madrid look like a relatively poor side. I was very curious though that not only did Barca play the usual right back Alaves in a forward role but that the commentators were aware of this prior to the game starting. That sort of information is usually left to the commentators in England to work out once a game has started. I wondered if they do things differently in Spain?
  21. Would you feel differently Rockets if they were chasing someone who had burgled your house and made away with some of your most prized possessions? Just wondering.
  22. 3 out of 3 so far. May have been by 1 point, 1 point and Munster but I don't care! In fact I'm delighted.
  23. I thought marching season was in July but I've never done it so what would I know?
  24. Thanks Batgirl. I'm a little surprised by the lack of response to this thread.Enough people appear to have read it.I suppose if they weren't my babies I wouldn't care. Really? Still if if affects just one parent/childminder it will have been worth writing.
